The Queen or the glittering West.
Where Nature in gorgeous profusion
Is showering her brightest and

Have you heard of bur lovely Will
amette That leaps from the gorges of
now.
Then gracefully glides through the
city
On Its way to the ofean below?
Have you beard of the "two lovely
brooklets
That quietly flow through tb.4
town, 1
Then driving the wheels ot the fac
tories They rush to the river beyond?
Have you heard of our gardens and
flowers.
The excrulslte lay of the land.
So gracefully and gently declining
Toward the river as Nature has
.. planned?
Have you seen our wide streets and
the parkings
Where the rosei In profusion
. abounds.
Where the maple trees gather from
the breezes
Woit delightfully murmuring
sounds?
Have you noticed the white-creased
mountains
That watch o'er our fortunes by
day.
While the soft silver moon in Its
tflory
Is frlght'ning night's darkness
away?
And the evergreen forests abounding
Are smiling on orchard and Held
Where the prune and the apple and
cherry
iReat the world In abundance of
leld;
Where the earth and the sky and the
elements .
Are working together in test
To make of the city of Salem
The lovetlest town in the West;
x
Where the berries are found in their
glory i
Far richer than anywhere else.
Where the streams ot the "Loju'' are
flowing '
As a basis of fabulous wealth.
Now. you've heard of this beautiful
city.
Which surpasses our words at I

On thC banks of the loveliest river
That graces the vales ot the Wst.

So come in all haste to our city
And share in our wonderful glory.
