ing quarters. Their program will in
crease in intensity until a few days
before the contests when they will
taper off their conditioning by light
workouts. - The other principals of
the boxing show to be staged by the
Elks are scheduled to arrive in Sa
lem Sunday.' The different training
quarters will be a tnecca for fistiana
fans of "the eity. The training quar
ters are open at 2:30 p. m. in the
afternoon. Yesterday a good sized
audience was present to witness the
conditioning of the mitt artists.
Los Angeles Man Pays
Expense of Injuries
-Erie Olson of Los Angeles, whose
car injure! the 11-year-old son of
H. G. Doer&ch Thursday in an acci
dent, yesterday reported to the local
sheriff's office that he would pay
all expenses incurred by the ' acci
dent. He says that although the
boy ran in front of the car. he is
willing to assume the responsibility.
It U reported that the Injured
lad is resting quietly at the Willam
ette sanitarium,, and slight Improve
ment is noticeable. As yet the phy
sicians are unable to determine the
extent of the injuries. It is thought
that his spine may be injured.
