man. died at her home. 314 North
Front street. She passed away at
8:15 o'clock, and although she had
been in poor health for some months
death was quite unexpected. She
jehad been a resident of Salem over
40 years and was a member of one
pt the best known families in the
i-lty.
i She leares three sons. Frank E.
Holman of Portland. R. Whitney
Holman of Portland and John W.
Holman of Salem; two daughters.
Mrs. Bernard Clark of Portland and
Mrs. Albert Hurst of New York city,
who has been in Salem sereral weeks
with her mother. One. sister, Mrs.
Emma J. Duncan of Ashland. Mich.;
find one brother.- J. H, Whitney of
Lrr BerH. Cal.. also survive her.
Mrs. Holman was a member of
the Degree of Honor of which she
was a, . past grand enter, or Honor.
.She also was a member oi me Laay
Maccabees. Bhe was 73 years old.
The body is at the Rigdon estab
lishment but no funeral announce
