Asylum avenue courts.
Yesterday's play developed some
tine matches, especially In tbe wo
men's events. In the morning Mrs.
Z. J. Rlggs and Miss M. Bo wen bat
tled for nearly tbree hours In a
match that was anybody's up to the
last stroke. The final score was ll-.
3-C. 7-5 la favor of Miss Itowen. In
tbe afternoon however. Misa Itowen
went down after a long struggle be
fore Miss Marjorle Kay.
In the mixed doubles Mrs Uics
and Jacobs staged another long bat
tle against Mrs. Andreae and Thtel
sen. the first team finally winning

In the semi-finals In men's sin

straight sets. Palmer was not Pay
