This comes as official information from lierbert N'nnn. state highway engineer, who has re turned from a trip over the road from the southern border of the slate to Salem, and who gives in detail exact road conditions along the routs. Mr. Nunn adds that the trip from Portland to Pendleton can be made this summer easily in a day and that the road will be open all winter. The highway commission has or dered division engineers throughout the state immediately to drag and put into condition for summer travel all roads where construction work is under way.
