" ." j We can furnish digitalis enough to heal all the broken hearts of the world. v ; , ' Note what Prof. A. Ziefle says. ' i He iS the dean tf the School 6f Pharmacy of the Oregon Agri cultural couege. It was organized on patriotic lines. One of its first acts mas to pass a strong resolution indorsing the Am erican Legion and denouncing Reds and Bolshevism. A resolution pledg ing the Idaho delegation to Senator Johnson was withdrawn in commit tee and replaced by the one defying the Reds. When it came to the selection of delegates the Borah-Johnson forces proved to be but a slender minority. Four delegates pledged to Wood were elected and the other four go to the convention uninstructed. Ida ho will no longer trust Borah to represent It in a national convention. His sonorous oratory has lost its magic. The people of Idaho have learned to distinguish between facts and phrases. They are no longer deceived by plausible utterances and evasions. When Borah made common causo with the Hearst-Johnson forces he lost control of his own state. On the very day of the convention the press of Idaho still believed that Borah wou!d control, and advance reports were sent out to the effect that It was another Borah conven tion. But when the actual voting began the Hearst-Johnson camou flage was quickly pierced and the patriotic nature of the assemblage was apparent. No one had believed Borah's defeat possible. 1 BITS FOR BREAKFAST j A drug garden. . What do you think of it? S Didn't know there was so much in it, did you? U S There are no suVstitules for cas cara sagrada; nothing else as good. S ". . So Salem will continue to be the market center for cascara bark, and it mutt be grown more and more. -w w Yon will b surprised at what the dean of the school of pharmacy of O. A. C. says about the possibility or drug gardens for Oregon. U And the makers of candles and gums and many other articles of commerce, to say nothing of the druggists, must have more and more of the Oregon menthol, made from our nratchless mint.
