Humboldt county. Calif., will be of interest to many readers of The Statesman. Th atticle was accompanied by a picture of the mills. "The machinery of the former Humboldt Bay Woolen mills, now known as the Eureka Woolen mills, was started up again about two weeks aro and soon it is exoecferf to have ! the mills working full force. At pres ent about 30 bands are employed in the manufacture ot blankets and flannels, but as soon as the remain ing and some additional machinery can be made ready 'the force will be Increased to about 50 and the mak ing of suiting cloth will be begun. The Eureka mills are now part of the Bishop brothers plants in Oregon, their purchase having been made nec essary by the rush f orders at .the Oregon mills. The'local mills have been incorporated separately with Cj M. Bishop, formerly of Salem. Ore gon, president of the company, P. E. McGee vice president and local man ager in charge of the mills here, and C. P. Sladc. secretary-treasurer. Pound for pound the steels in z M A X W E L L equal those in any car . -4k ! lt M?!.-i, f-.e..;. h it , '5 T$p&fT fflFSVT: ink' TO iiiimiiipA 0 14. r 1 HE tendency in cars today is to reduce weight, to cut out unnecessary pounds, to take those extra burdens ofF the power of an engine. - - In a Maxwell there is hardly a superfluous pound. Like a great cross country ranner, it carries no handi cap in weight. . It is made of fine steels, and these steels have that magic combination that metallurgists strive fcr light weight and extra strength. ( These steels are made to order for Maxwell. They are treated in great furnaces, and they arc strong beyond belief. Pound for pound, they equal the steels in any car built But they more than repay for their high cost. They wear. They stand terrific abuse. They defy time.' But their greatest task is to lighten the burden of the Maxwell engine, enable it to perform brilliantly, and make gasoline deliver extended mileage. Thus you will understand that rise of Maxwell the world over,' that ever growing friendship, that ever in creasing demand. Today nearly 400.000 in use. In 1920, 100,000 more. Still this wall fill but 60 of the world's require ments for this remarkable car. OSCAR B. GINGRICH MOTOR & TIRE CO.
