automobile driven by T. E. Zimmer
man, route 9. Salem, yesterday af
ternoon at Ferry and Commercial
stieets. Zimmerman was driving
close behind the motor truck, and
when K. Huseh, driver of the truck
slowed down for the corner the small
car crashed into the rear of the
truck. Neither of the, drivers was
injured. .The smaller car was slight
ly damaged. The accident was re
ported to the police.

One Fatal Accident
Ohe fatal accident was reported
to the state accident commission for
the meek ending March 2S out of a
total of 4 23 industrial casualties.
The fatal case was that of Jim Fte-
kas. a laborer at Westlmber. Or. Of
the total number of accidents re
ported. 397 were subject to the pro
visions of the workmen's compen
sation act. 12 were from firms and
corporations that have rejected the
act and 16 were from public utility
corporations not subject to the act.
