With ! his wife and small ; son, Philip, he is a guest at the Lovell home until tonight,-when he goes to Portland to deliver a sermon. This is Rev. ShambaughY sec ond furlough since he has been in Xhina and has been passed prin cipally at his old home at Car lisle, Pa. This coming week he is due to sail again from San Fran cisco for the Orient. Although, absent from Cliang sha during the recent revolutions, Rev. Shambaugh has witnessed other exciting events in that city. He was there during the Boxer uprising and was at Li Ling at the time of the big flood, carry ing money and food day and night to the suffering populace. Not long ago his home, then un der .the flag of the Red Cross, was a haven during a rebellion for people driven from their dwellings by the enemy.
