Adolph Greenbaum First Salem Man in New Service Adolph Greenbaum. son of Isi dore Greenbaum, is the first Salem man to enlist in the Marine corps limited overseas service open to for mer soldiers and marines. He will go to Portland, and from there to Owntico. Va.. and then will be sent to France:. Under the terms of the enlistment he will be discharged up on his return, to the United States next fall. Sergeant Lawrence D. Howelf who ! in charge of the local marine corps recruiting office declares that the enlistments for this limted over seas service are very heavy In Port land and that he anticipates the number of men required will be raised at a very early date.
