The oldest pat grand master
present at the Centennial conven
tion is W. C. Tweedale of Albany,
who wears a 5 4 -year jewel. And
furthermore, he-proclaims, that 4
years, consists in membership in the
lodge in which he was Initiated and
which he has never left, a rather re
markable record. The first time Mr
Tweedale attended grand lodge he
says was In Salem In 1872.
Dr. V. T. Williamson of Portland
Is another old-time lodge member
here this week.' He has belonged to
the encampment since 1S84 and has
been a member of the order since
1873.
Not a session of the grand lodge
has Sister Mary White missed since
she joined the Iteliekahs many years
co and she is here in Salem again
this week. She is the oldest In
years of membership present. Mrs.
White is from Sell wood and is R7
years old beside being the mother of
the next president. Mrs. Jessie Jar
vis. The former crossed the plains

of the lodge, is one of the delegates
here.
Being a" mayor of Maker for eight
years Is a distinction C. L. Palmer
got used to long ago. He Is attend
ing the lodge as past grand patriarch
and representative.

Robert Andrews of Portland is
three things, first he's English, sec
ond he's an ex-commission merchant
and third, he's a real Odd Fellow,
having served as past grand master
and past grand patriarch. Thric
he was grand representative to the
sovereign grand lodge.
For the past 30 years Dr. G. A.
Pogne has been driving over Mal
heur county doctoring all the ills of
half the people up there, at least,
that is what his friends claim. He is
a past grand patriarch and past
grand representative and he is here
attending the convention as a rep
resentative of the Ontario lodge.
Friends of P. W? Stewart of Port
land, past grand patriarch and past
grand representative, re rejoicing
that he was able to attend the fes
tivities here this week. Mr. Stew
art has recently recovered from a
sever illness.
A song celebrating all the qual
ities of the l. O. O. F, and affiliated
orders for 100 year ha been crnn
pnsed bv JTarvin W. Pond of Eu
gene and is being sold by him dur
ing the convention. It will be sun
for the first time todav at 1:30 at
the assembly by Mrs. It. W. Simeral
of thi city. Mr. Pond has been an
Od Fellow for a third of a century

. Multnomah county Is contributing
between 20 and 40 patients to .the
late hoppitat each month, according
to the visitors. Monday the county
committed six cases and three more
came up too late to examine that
night.
