Liberty bonds were comparative dull, lacking a definite trend. Rails scored extreme gains of one to tone and three quarter points. Reading. Norfolk and Western, Un ion acific. Great Northern and New York Central leading that group. Equipments notably were higher by one to three points at their best. Shippings, motors and tobaccos represented the backward Issues, marine preferred yielding one and a half points as a result of its state ment of . annual earnings, which dis closed a large decrease. Prices were impaired all through the list In the last hour, the re versal conciding with the publira tions of a statement by the United States Steel coronoration which an nounced another increase of wages, but indicated some difference of opinion as to the time schedule. Sales amounted 350.000 shares. Foreign exchange was irregular, rubles tending higher with a slight reaction in lires and Scandinavian rates. The geneal bond list eased vari ably with liberty Issues, through re cessions were mostly fractional.
