A scheme for a gigantic German
Russian alliance to dominate Europe
is being put forward in all parts of
Germany by the; advocates of the
old "rnittel-Euroixa" plan. The bestj
summary of the iiew scheme which
has jet apperad Is published In a
Swedish newspaper, the Gothenburg
Tidningen from the pen ht a- Ger
man propagandist. He outlines tllfe
project as follows:
The future Central Europe-Russian
'block' among other 'aims, will
have before It the mighty task of
bringing the great riencs of Russia
into the world markets.. For this
purpose there are two natural win
dows on the west: one is Hamburg.
the other Copenhagen. These two
towns will become the great markets
of the world. The prpnuf-e of south
western Russia will go by the Dan
ube and Rhino-Kibe waterways ' t-
Hamburg; the riches of Central and
Northwestern Russia will go by the
Dvina and Volta to the Baltic and
Copenhagen. In this manner 'an in

a friendly welcome by the Baltic

ern Mediterranean, the waters of
which are now under her control.

tivity still further north are bein

While Finnish socialists are frater
nizing wilth Russian soldiers. Ger
many is winning the friendship "of
the middle -classes and the peasants
of Finland.
"Germany, howerer. is meditating
neither the incorporalion of Finland
in the German Empire nor any kind
of political alliance, but rathe'r aa
economic alliance. She would be de
lighted to see Finland united to Cen
tral Europe .as part of the economic
block, thus Extending German econ
omic power far to the north.
