The maxim that the voice of t!;e people is
the voice of the divinity may in some cases,
be open to doubt, but the testimony of hon
est and enlightened witnesses exteuding
through a series of years, and all to the
same purport, is worthy of credence, admits
of no question LTpon such testimony the
repudiation of Hostetter's Stomach . Bitters
as an antidote and cure for many ailments is
based. During tha twenty years that it tas
been before, the world, innumerable prepar
ations intended to compete with it, have
gone up like rockets, and come down the
extinguished sticks. Meanwhile the pro
gress of that incomparable tonic has been
swift and steady alwaj's upward and on
ward like the eagle's ilight. Its introduction
produced a revolution in thereapcuties, and
it proved to be one of tfco-e salutary revolu
tions that, cannot go backwards. To-day
Hostetter's Litters is one of the most popu
lar remedies in Christendom, and commands
a, larger sale than any other medicinal pre
paration , domestic or imported, on this
side of the Atlantic. As a cure for dyspep
sia, bilious disorders, nervous affections,
general debility, and as a preventive of epi
demic fevers, it takes precedence of every
other remedy. This fact should teach the
ambitious country dealers who endeaor to
foist their local abortions on the public in its
stead, bow lutile their small attempts to ca
jole the community must necessarily be.
Wheie the tjame fish have failed there is no

A Nation of ly"!i-pties That's what
Americans arc. We live fa.-t dissipate in
everything except righteousness, and fill
early graves. We drink, without regard to
consequences, all kinds of poisoned alcohol ic
spirits, and swa'low, without mastication,
pork, grease, and every conceivable carbon
aceous, soul dwarfing, life-destroying, system-clogging,
indigestible food. Dr. Walk -
Kit's VwiKVARLE YlXKGAR BlTTKRS Cannot
stop this in a radical manner, but it will re
move the evil effects, and the recovering pa
tient, with fres1, pure, vitalized electrical
blood flowing through '5 his arteries and
veins, will have a clearer head and a cooler
judgment, which, coupled with experience,
will cause him to abstain in the future.
Good, nutritious, digestible diet, which the
most delicate stomachs may take, can be
f und in cracked wheat, corn bread, toma
toes, raw or soft-boiled eggs, baked apples,
boiled rice, plain rice pudding, corn starch,
rare beef, mutton and poultry. With Yin
egar Bitters and moderation in eating, and
drinking, there is lo incurable case of
dyspepsia.
Pi KnATivE Pills "have become a settled
necessity with the American people. In
deed, cathartics always must be used, in
some form, by all mankind. In this country
the peculiar form coadministration has been
growing in favor since pills were first made
of Aloes and Rhubarb, rolled into a bill.
Their high position in the public confidence
has been secured and fastened into perma
uency by Ayer's Cathartic Pills, the most
skillful combination of medicine for the dis
eases they are intended to cure, that science
can devise or art produce. Those who need
pills, no longer hesitate what pills to take if
they can get Ayer s 1 ills. heeling, (. a.)
