Is a blessing vouchsafed to few. Even
those who have been favored by nature with
strong constitutions and vigorous frames are
apt to neglect the precautions necessary to
preserve these precious endowments. In
deed, as a rule, the more healthy and robust
a man is, the more liberties he is iuclircd to
take with his own physique. It 'is some con
solation to the naturally weak and feeble to
know that they can be so invigorated and
fcuilt up, by a proper ise of the means
which scieuce bas placed at their disposal, as
to have a much better chance of long life,
and exemptions from disease and pain, than
the most athletic of their fellows who are
fb'dish enough to snppose themselves invul
nerable, and act accordingly.
It is not too much to sav that more than
half the people of the civilised wrtd need
an occasional tonic, to enable them to Sup

Cherry Pectoral,
Fcr Diseases cf the Throat and Lungs,
such as Coughs, Colds, Whooping
Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma,
und Consumption.
Among the great
discoveries of modern
science, few are of
more real vuIuoq to
mankind than this ef
fcctnal remedy for all
diseases of the Throat
and Lungs. A vast
trial of its Virtue,
throuirhont this and
other countries, ha
shown that it docs
surely and effectually
control them. Th2 restin.ony H" Our best citi
zens, of all classes establishes the 'fa'et, that
Chkkuy Pkctokal will and doe relieve and
cure the afflicting disorders of the Throat and
Lungs beyond any other medicine. The rfiVst
dangerous affections of the Pulmonary Organ
yield to its power; and case:-; 'Of Consump
tion, etired by this preparation, are public
ly known, so remarkable as hardly to be bo
lieved, were they not proven beyond 'dispute.
As a remedy it is adequate, on whiclr the puMid
may rely for full protection, l'y curing Couphs
the forerunners of mord serious disease, it saves
unnumbered lives, and an amount of suffering
not to be computed. It c-Jrslkvnges trial, and cfir
vinees the. most sceptical. Every family should
keep it on hand as a protection Against tlie early
ami unperceiyed attack of Pnrmoiiary AHecrioni,
Which :ir6 easily met at first, brtt which become
incurable, and too often fatal, if neglected. Ten
der lungs need this defence; and it is unwise
be without it. As a safeguard lo children, amidQ,
the distressing diseases which beset the Throat
and Chest of childhood, Cheiihy PKCTOtaAk
is invaluable1; for, by its timely use, irmltt
tudes are rescued from premature graves, and
saved to the love and affection centred 'on them,
it acts speedily and surely against ordinary cold,
securing sonnd smd health-restoring sleep. O No
one will suffer troublesome Influenza and pa.iir
ful Itroncliiti-S when they know how 'easily
they can be cured. .
Originally th'4 prr.vluct of long, laborious and
successful chemical investigation, no cot or toil
is spared in making every bottle in the utmost
possible perfection. It may be confidently ro
lied upon as possessing all the virtues it has" ever
exhibited, and capable of producing cures b
memorable as the greatest it has ever effected.

gloss and freshness of youth. Thift
hair is thickened, falling hair checked)
and baldness often, though not alvays
cured by its use. No thing can l-cs'toffo
the hair where the follicles arc de
stroyed, or the glands atrophied and
decayed; but such as remain can bo
saved by this application, and stimu
lated into activity, so that a new
growth of hair is produced. Instead
of fouling the hair with a pasty sedi
ment, it will keep it clean and vigorous.
Its occasional use will prevent the "hair
from turning gray or falling off, and
consequently prevent baldness. Tho
restoration of vitality it gives to tho
scalp arrests and prevents the forma
tion of dandruff, which is often so un
cleanly and offensive. Free from thoso
deleterious substances which mako
some preparations dangerous and inju
rious to the hair, the Vigor can only
benefit but not harm it. If wanted
merely for a HAIR DRESSING,
nothing else can bo found so desirable.
Containing neither oil nor dye, it does
not soil white cambric, and yet lasts
long on the hair, giving it a rich, glossy
lustre, and a grateful perfume. .
