The Dayton, last Tues day . as she was coming down the river into Hock Island, struck a large rock, making it necessary to beach her. The Tihoo Fly was immediately dispatched to her relief, and took olf her freight, which vsetped damage. The Dayton was 'brought down and placed in the Dry-dock tor repairs. The damage was slight and "will be repaired in day or two, when she will a.f;ain resume her place. The Shoo Vly will take her place until she is ready lor service. Ci!x(.:!:n. The boat which was 'built 'this summer to run between this placfe and Portland, was named originally the "Alice." in honor of the wife of A. A. McCully. Esq., President of the late P. T.
