o O o 0 o 00 Spirits of Ammonia A Useful Arti cle for Many Domestic Purposes- Few liouso keepers are aware of the uses of Spirits of Ammonia for many , domestic occasion It is cheap, easily attainable and saves a deal of labor in some cases. For taking grease spots from fine fabrics rub the spirits of am monia on it nearly pure and then apply a bit of white blotting paper and iron it slightly. To wash laces put 15 to 20 drops in a quart or more of hot suds, and the operation will be quick and satisfactory. To clean silver, put two tea spoonsful of ammonia in a quartet hot suds, and use a nail brush. To wash paint, put a tablespoon ful of ammonia in a quart of hot soapsuds and rub oil" the paint with the suds on a ilannel rag. Very little rubbing docs the work. To clean hair brushes, put a tea spoonful of ammonia to a pint of water, and dip in the brushes re peatedly, throwing the water out with a jerk. All the dandruff and grease will wash out. Then put the brush in the air to dry. To clean a mirror, moisten a rag with a few drops of ammonia -and wipe off the glass. All dirt or grease disappears before it. A refreshing bath lor the face is had by adding a few drops of am monia to the basin of water. And likewise for cleansing the hair, am monia may be used in the same manner. Likewise it is a good remedy for headache when properly taken, of which however, the family physi cian is the best adviser. In buying, ask for spirits of ammonia and not for hartshorn, am! when you get. a pint bottle from the druggist get a good cork at the same time, and have the bottle plainly labelled.
