Coat News. The steamer Albany has
taken the place of the i anme l'atton irom
this place to Salem, and the Shoo-Fly the
place of the Albany from Salem to Cor-

up. The amount of freight coming down
the river is very small at present, owm
to the fact that the high price for wheat
nnd wool this spring, all the surplus wa3
forced in market, and the country has
been drained to its foundation. The
amount of up freight is good for this sea
son of the year.
Imperial Mili.3. Our neighbor the Bal-

Mills of this city should have given Mr. I.
F. Heals the credit for the work done and
being done, alluded to in his article, and
to Mr. Geo. Clark for the stone masonry
upon which rests the husk frame. All
the work and plans were made, save the
belting chests and other work connected
therewith, which is being Soiie by "Mr.
Irving of Ohio," was planned and done
bv Mr. Peals, part of which was done
long ago, in contenplation of a thorough
change to be made in said mills and
when completed no better mills can be
found on the coast.

going to reccommend to Congress the
'taking off of forty millions more of taxes"
next December, the Chicago Times says :
"If he proposes recommending a reduc

manner of the defaulting Collectors. h-
might better put his figure hi gher say at
$200,000,000. Buncomo is cheap, and
there is nothing to be gained by using it
sparingly. There is no danger that Con

A Few AVords to tlie Ladies,
Many ladies, particularly mothers nursing,
complain of a tired, listless feeling, or com
plete exhaustion, on arising in the morning.
On the wife and mother devolves the re
sponsibilitf of regulating the duties of the
household. Her cares are numerous, and
the mental as well as the physical powers
are frequently called iuto requisition. v he
olten finds her slightest occupation a weary
task and existence a burden, while at the
same time she has no rgular disease. Ilos
tetter's Stomach Bitters, if resorted to at
this period, will prove an unfailing remedv
fur this annoying lassitude. The effects of
this potent agent are soon seen in the rosv
cheek and elastic step of tbe head of the fum'
ily, as with restored health and renewed
spirits she takes her accustomed place in the
family circle. If this friend in need be reg
ularly used, those depressing symptoms will
never be complained of, and not only would
uauuue uui ue expeneuteu, uui mauy uis- 1
eases following its advent be avoided. As a I
medical agent it has no equal, while its
pleasing flavor and healthful effects have
made it a general favorite. It i-i free from
au properties calculated to impair the sys
tem, and its operations are at once mild,
booming ana elbcient. All wno nave used
the Bitters attest its virtues and commend it
to use.

Cherry Pectoral
For Diseases of tlie Throat and Lungs,
such. a3 Coughs, Colds, Whooping
Cough, Bronchitis, Asthma,
and Consumption.
Among the great
discoveries of modem
science, few are of
more real value to
mankind than this ef
fectual remedy for all
diseases of the Throat
and Lunjrs. A vast
trial of its virtues,
throughout this and
other countries, has
shown that it does
surely and effectually
control them. The testimony of our best citi
zens, of all classes, establishes the fact, that
Cheeky Pectoral will and does relieve and
cure the afflicting disorders of the Throat and
Lungs beyond any other medicine. The most
dangerous affections of the Pulmonary Organs
yield to its power; and cases of Consump
tion, cured by this preparation, are public
ly known, so remarkable as hardly to be be
lieved, were they not proven beyond dispute. O
As a remedy it is adequate, on which the public
may rely for full protection. By curing Coughs,"
the forerunners of more serious disease, it saves
unnumbered lives, and an iunount of suffering
not to be computed. It challenges trial, ahd con
vinces the most sceptical. Every family should
keep it on hand as a protection against the early
and unpercelved attack of Pulmonary Affections,
wdiich are easily met at first, but which become
incurable, and too often fatal, if neglected. . Ten
der lungs need tlris defence; and it is unwise to
be without it. As a safeguard to children, amid
the distressing diseases which beset the Throat
aud Chest of childhood, Cherry Pectoral
is invaluable; for, by its timely use, multi
tudes are rescued from prenmture graves, and
saved to the love end affection centred on them.
It acts speedily and surely against; ordinary colds,
securing sound and heaJth-restoring sleep. No
one will suffer troublesome Influenza and pain
ful Bronchitis, when they know how easily
thev can be cured.
Originally the product of long, laborious, and
successful chemical investigation, no cost or toil
is spared in making every bottle in the utmost
possible perfection. It may be confidently re
lied upon as possessing all the virtues it has ever
exhibited, and capable of producing cures 6.3
memorable as the greatest it has ever effected.

RENEWER.
Every year increases the popularity
of this valuable Hair Preparation ;
which is due to merit alone. "We can
assure our old patrons that it is kept
fully up-to its high standard; and it
is the only reliable and perfected prep
aration for restoring Gray or Faded
IIaiii to its youthful color, making it
soft, lustrous, and silken. The scalp,
by its use, becomes white and clean.
It removes all eruptions and dandruff,
and, by its tonic properties, prevents
the hair from falling out, as it stimu
lates and nourishes the hair-glands. O
By its use, the hair grows thicker and
stronger. In baldness, it restores the
capillary glands to their normal vigor,
and will create a new growth, except
in extreme old age. It is the most
economical Hair Dressing ever used,
as it requires fewer applications, and
gives the hair a splendid, glossy ap
pearance. A. A. Hayes, M.D., State
Assayer of Massachusetts, says, "The
constituents are pure, and carefully
selected for excellent quality; and I
consider it the Best Preparation
for its intended purposes."

Buckingham's Dye
FOR THE WHISKERS.
As our Renewer in many cases re

preparation ; which will quickly and
effectually accomplish this result. It
is easily applied, and produces a color
which will neither rub nor wash off. 0
