at the November term, made the follow
ing recommendation, iu relation to the
small-pox. '
Wiikukas. the County Court of Clacka
mas -county has been informed that a con
tagious disease, to-wit : small-pox does
exist in certain localities in this county.
It is hereby, earnest ly recommended that
the citizens of said county use all the dili
gence possible to arrest the spread of this
malignant disease, and also that any or
all persons having said disease about their
premises, procure as soon as possible a
yellow Ji'fj and hoist the same over the
residence where said disease axisis. And
we would earnestly enjoin upon all the
people of said county that no pair.3 be
spared to carry into effect the recommen
dations aforesaid.

ing class numbers over seventy scholars. It
is a pleasant as well as a profitable way of
passing away an evening.
