the Alert, Capt. Pease in command, at
tempted to make a landing at Oswego, but
it being somewhat dark, sue struck against
the wharf rather forcibiy, causing a beam,
or log which protruded from the wharf, to

the lower deck. No particular damage
was done, however, and the boat soon
