A letter received lnthe city today from the state director of Near East activities says that-Dr. Wirt is draw ing large crowds and that his lecture is being well received. High School Can'tGet Games The Dalles high school has a fast, peppy baseball team this season, with no opponents. Virtually every other city of any size in the Mid-Columbia dis trict has been asked for games, only to receive replies stating that no IB, cames can be arranged, according to The Principal W. E. Wiley of the local school. A number of game's will probably be played with the local town team, with possibly a game with the Hood River high school.
