The Attendance Today Ksoaeda That of Yesterday Weather la Perfect. TUESDAY AFTKBNOON. The second heat in the trotting race between Nancy K., Dake of Wal stein and Edmond 8., which was unfinished at the time of going to press yesterday, concluded the race as Nancy K. came under the wire a close first with Ed mund S. second, the time being 2:45. In the second heat of the pacing race Solo got a poor start, and Tilden'a Neliie Coovert struck out at such a rate that it was impossible for Solo to gain the lost ground over the little gray, although be came in a close second, the time being 2:23o. Mr. Hobson's Primrose made a very pretty showing and in another year bids tair to out class both the other horses. Were it not for Primrose breaking in this heat it is a question if Solo would have taken sec ond place, and it should abo be re membered that she has recently re covered from an attack of distemper and had less than two weeks' training, and even daring this time she did not get the necessary work. Nellie Coovert also led in the concluding heat, although for a time the most competent judge would have been at sea as to tbe result. When they passed the quartc r pole for the last time it looked as if Solo wonld hold the small lead he had gained, but suddenly he weakened and the little gray shot by as if he was standing still, and if Primrose had not pulled one of her front shoes, which broke her gait, Solo would have won a third place. The lime of this heat was 2 :2G.J. "The quarter of a mile dash, which wae the concluding race of the day, furnished a remarkably pretty spectacle, there be ing seven entries and all of them had some previous good records, much inter est was taken in tbe outcome. B. C. Green, Little Henry, Tucker Snow, Tom my, Typewriter, Dawey and Cultus Cot ton were the contestants, and as some of the horses, particularly Typewriter, weri very nervous, it was difficult to get an even etart. When they did get off B C. Green had the lead, with Dewey about a length behind, but the little black gained steadily and won out, al though a few inches would have put tbe judges to guessing as to what decision the? should make. Little Henry, on count of a pjor start, could not gain lost ground, but had he been even with the otners when the signal to go was given, tbe showing he made would cause one to conclude that the result would have been different. Time 25 second?. WEDNESDAY AFTEBN'OON. "Had the weather been ordered for tbe occasion it could not have been more perfect for the race meeting," was re marked by one of those interested in the success of the meeting of the district fair, and everyone at tbe track this af ternoon seemed to agree tbat the above remark was correct. In consequence of the favorable con ditions and the splendid amutement ar ranged by the committee, a much larger crowd was in attendance than yesterday. The track is improving every day owing to the perseverance and judgment of those who have charge of the work, and before tbe conclusion of the meeting it fa more than likely tbat some surprising speed records will be made. The first attraction of tbe afternoon wae the trotting race between Edmund 8 , owned by Fred Fisher, L. E. Crowe's Freak, and Judd Fish's Dennis. The tart was even and at tbe end of the first half Edmund 8. led, with Freak eeconi. Dennis then began to forge ahead and it wae apparently a close race between Freak and Dennis, at tbe Ust quarter post, far second place, when freak's sulky broke, forcing him to drop out and giving first place to Edmund 8., with Dsnnis second ; time, 2 :b31.,. The second race was a five-eighths mile dash between Undergrowth, Little Henry, Ragalong and Barnato. Little Heniy was in tbe lead when they passed under the wire the first time, with Rag along second, which position was held during the entire race. Little Henry won with apparently little effort. Rag along was a close second, while Under growen easily toon mini place over Barnato. Time, 1 :05. At tbe time of going to prees tbe sec ond heat of tbe trotting race bad not come off.
