Bm Orator Ignored bv Pennsylvania
Democrats They Will Make Cam
paien Entirely on State Issues.
HaBIISBTBO, Pa.. Aug. 15. The cam
paign for the ticket nominated today by
the Democratic convention will be en !
tirely on state issues. No mention is
made in the platform of the name of W.
J. Bryan, or free silver, imperialism
and other national issues. The last leg
islature is condemned for the passage
of rapid transit and "ripper'" bills, and
pronounced the most corrupt legislative
body that ever convened in this country.
All friends of good government are in
vited to join with the Democracy in its
effort to "save the state the further dis
honor." The platform is one of the most re
markable declarations of principles ever
issued by a state convention in Pennsyl
TMlis. Those Democratic legislators i
who joined with the Republican major-!
ity in passing the bills condemned by
the platform are left to their immediate ;
constitutents for the "infliction of polit- j
ical punishment."
This part of the platform was not
satisfactory to ex-Congressman William
H. Sowden, of Allentown, and other del
egates and before the convention met at
noon they threatened to offer more dras- I
tic resolutions as a substitute.
Judge Harmon Yerkes.of Doylestown,
til the only avowed candidate for Su- j
preme Court Juuge, and bis nomination
was conceded.
Question Answered.
Yes, August Flower still has the largest
sale of any medicine in the civilized
world. Your mothers and grandmothers
never thought of using anything else for
indigestion and biliousness. Doctors
were scarce and they seldom heard of
appendicitis, nervous prostration or
heart failure, etc. They used August
Flower to clean out tbe system and stop
fermentation of undigested food, regu
late the action of tbe liver, stimulate the
nervous and organic action of the sys
tem, and that is all they took, when feel
ing dull and bad with headaches and
other aches. You only need a few doses

Chicoo, Aug. 15. Twenty-five thou
sand dollars in bills will be publicly
burned by order of the Probate Court
unless a clause in the will of Paul Scott,
which was filed with Judge Mutter, is
knocked out by the courts, says a Fari
bault, Minn., correspondent of tbe
Record- Hearld. Scott who was H years
old, left ao estate of $50,000, half of
which is in bank notes and United
Siatea currency. The object of the will
is supposed to be to deprive his legal
heirs three in number of any share in
Oils money. The heirs have protested
on the ground that the administrator
has not more right to destroy money by
fire than be would have to destroy
buildings. They will make a bitter tight

Bakek City, Aug. 14 Stewart, tbe
third member of the gangalleged to have
Stolen the clean-up of the Red Boy mine,
was seen at the Don Juan mine last
Saturday, where he took dinner. Tbe
people with whom he dined did not
know that he was suspected of being
mixed up in tbe Red Boy hold-up, or he
would have been captured. Deputy
Sheriff Baker, of Sumpter, crossed the
road behind Stewart, but did not know
he was the man for whom he was looking.
It is believed Stewart has left the country
for good. The officers are still searching
for bim, however.
