The tie-up of chipping is becoming serious. There are at least ninety coasters and twenty deep-water vessel? at anchor in the bay. Says the London correspondent of the Tribune: Rumors are current that the reason why the departure from London for Germany of King Edward and other royal mourners has been delayed was that the German police authorities had received informa tion of a plot which the anarchists had intended to put into execution at Fried richshof. It is certainly somewhat significant that even now the exact hour of the king's departure has not been made known. However, it is known that preparations for his departure are complete. Your mothers and grandmothers never thought of using anything else for indigestion and biliousness. Doctors were scarce and they seldom heard of appendicitis, nervous prostration or heart failure, etc. They used August Flower to clean out the system and stop fermentation of undigested food, regu late the action of the liver, stimulate the nervous and organic action of the sys tem, aud that is all they took, when feel ing dull and bad with headaches and other aches. You only need a few doses of Green's August Flower, in liquid form, to make you satisfied there is nothing serious the matter with you. Get Green's prize almanac. Word has reached here o! the finding of the body of Alfred Ingalls in the John Day this morning, floating in the river, a quarter of a mile below the point where the youmr man was drowned last Sunday. The singular part of the drowning was the fact that the boy, when bathing with a threshing crew, suddenly disappeared in water not deep enough for swimming, and never came up again. Mrs. 8. H. New York, Aug. 8. The Iron Age, discussing the effects of the strike, says: The calling out of the union men in all the plants of the United States Steel Corporation thus far not affected, will considerably extend the trouble and will affect a fresh line of products. So far as the Illinois Steel Company is concerned, it may be noted that the Joliet and Milwaukee plants are strictly union. The former turn out eteel billets, wire rods, strikers, splice bars, track bolts, and some sizes of steel bars. The Mil waukee works largely makes steel bars, agricultural shapes and a large quantity of steel rails. Of the South Chicago works, the nnion is supposed to control the Bessemer and rail shops, and the operatives cf the plate mill are non union. The Sbenango plant of the National Steel Company at Newcastle has already closed down, and the Mingo Junction plant of the same company is also rated union. The National Tube Company counts among its mills as union the Franktown and the Republic Iron Works, toth chiefly engaged in making skelp, and the Riverside works at Benwood, near Wheeling, an importand tube plant. It will be observed, therefore, that additional capacity will be cut off in steel bars; that some important eteel plants may be shut down; that a re markable capacity tor producing track material will be stopped; and that there may be some embarrassment about an adequate amount of skelp and of tubes. The wire, structural and plate trades are not effected. In anticipation of possible trouble at South Chicago, the plant at Youngstowu has been fitted up to make rails. So far as the mills already affected by the strikeare concerned, the mannfactu--ers have made some gains. The position of the manufacturers is an exceedingly strong one, backed as it is by an under written syndicate, which has thus far called 12'L, per cent of $2,000,000. How's This!
