It was reported tbat at the same time in Gold Hill, east of Grant's Pase, the temperature lowers and the nights become cool. The warm weather is made more disagreeable by the heavy mantle of smoke that b ingi over Rogue River valley. This smoke is the result of the surrounding lorest fires in the timber of tne nearby mountains. Strikes A ltlch Find. H., "No remedy helped me un til I beiiati using Electric Bitters, which did me more good than all the medicines I ever used. They have also kept my wife in excellent health for years. Funeral Set For Tuesday. Bkhi.in, Aug. 7. It has been definite ly decided that the funeral of the Dowager Empress Frederick will take place Tuesday nest, August 13th. The remains will be deposited in the Frieden kirsche mausoleum near Potsdam. London, Aug. 7. King Edward, Queen Alexandra, Princess Victoria and Prince Nicholas, of Greece, who is the guest of their majesties, will start for Hombum Friday to attend the special services of Empress Frederick, to be held in the presence of the family next Sunday. A resolution providing tor an address ot condolence with King Edward and sympathy with Emperor William on the death of the Dowager Empress Frederick, their sister and mother, respectively, was unanimously adopted in the house of commons today. Mr. Balfour, the government leader, in moving the resolu tion, highly eulogized the daughter, wife and mother, who throughout her life, strove to the utmost to promote mutual comprehension and sympathy between two great nations upon whom so much of the future of civilization depended. Question Answered. Yes, August Flower still has the largest sale of any medicine in the civilized world. Your mothers and grandmothers never thought of using anything else for indigestion and biliousness. Doctors were scarce and they seldom heard of appendicitis, nervous prostration or heart failure, etc. They used August Flower to clean out the system and stop fermentation of undigested food, regu late the action of the liver, stimulate the nervous and organic action of the sys tem, and that is all they took' when feel ing dull and bad with headaches and other aches. You only need a few doses of Green's August Flower, in liquid form, to make you satisfied there is nothing serious the matter with you. Get Green's prize almanac. With the issue of the general steel strike order of Presi dent Shaffer it is generally accepted as a fact that the labor struggle is on "for good" and will not be terminated until one or theotherof the contending parties if defeated. Still there are some who ex press the opinion that the order of Presi dent Shaffer will not go into effect and that a compromise will be made before the week is out. There is no question that the various companies of the United States Steel Corporation will make efforts to start up some of the idle plants immediately and thus prevent the strike, if possible, be fore its inception. Such a move was made at Clark's plant in this city this morning, and consternation reigned among the strikers in the Lawrenceville district when they learned that Captain Louis T. Brown, general superintendent, had stolen a march on tbem and started up the 10 and 12 inch mills with about 100 men and boys. Captain Brown says the entire plant will be running before the end of the week. Captain Brown said this morning : "We bad no trouble whenever in se curing men. We have many applica tions on hand and will send out word today to thoBe whom we can uive em ployment just when to report for duty. The 20 inch mill has been running steadily since the strike began, the men operating this one refusing to go out with the strikers." About the entrance were many men who said tbey were seeking work. The upper and lower Union mills, of the Carnegie Company, Captain Brown said, are running alone1 quietly, and he does not expect the men to go out Saturday when President Shaffer's order goes into effect. He said the lower mill haB not been organized by the Amalgamated, and at neither of the mills has there been any indication that the men will strike. Everything is quiet around all the mills.
