Yes, August Flower still has the largest
sale of any medicine in the civilized
world. Your mothers aud grandmothers
never thought of using anything else for
indigestion and biliousness. Doctors
were scarce and they seldom heard of
appendicitis, nervous prostration or
heart failure, etc. They used August
Flower to clean out the system and stop
fermentation of undigested food, regu
late the action of tbe liver, stimulate the
nervous and organic action of the sys
tem, and that is all they took-when feel
ing dull and bad with headache and
other aches. You only need a few doses
of Green's August Flower, in liquid
form, to make you satisfied there is
nothing serious the matter with you

STAGES ROBBED
IN CALIFORNIA
Job Performed by a Lone Highway
man He Held Up Eighteen Peo
ple. t
Uriah, 01., July lb. The Potter Val- j
ley & Blue Lake stages were held up
eight miles north of this City this after
noon, hy a lone highwatman, who linpd
Up the eighteen passengers and secured
about $400.
The two stages left this citv or sched
ule time. The road to Potter Valley di- .
verges from the road to Blue Lake about
five miles north of Ukiab, and it was
just before they reached the forks that
the highwayman, masked with a hand
kerchief, sprang into the road in front !
of the first vehicle and ordered t he driver
to stop. The robber then ordered the
passengers, eighteen in number, to alight
and line up. They were all tourists on j
their way to the surrounding resorts,
and they complied with exceeding
promptness. About $400 was deposited
in a nice little pile on the roadside, snd
the drivers ordered to drive on, and the :
passengers wained not to look back. :
One of the passengers, who had $200 in 1
gold in his pocket, dropped the coin in
the dust while the attention of the rob
ber was distracted, and covered it up
with dust. Hr went to Pot er and then
returned to hunt for his money.

Dbnvbb, July 16. Henry T. Oxnard, I
the well-known promoter of the beet
sugar industry, who is in the city de
clared that the recent reduction in sugar
prices is the beginning ot an effort by
the sugar trust to drive beet sugar out of
the market. Said he :
"Th (juestion to be decided is whether
the sugar trust or the beet people shall
stay in tha field. We have noticed that
the trust will no louder sell our product,
and prices are going down in anticipat
ion of the beet sugar which will soon be
upon the market."
He declared that a determined effort
wouid be made to have the next con
gress remove the tariff on sugar.
