    TVorara of Woodcraft.
The Women of Woodcraft are work
ing to gain 25,090 members by its fourth
anniversary , which is April 1, 1001,
when the order all over the jurisdiction
will celebrate the tvent. The number
will over-reach that to nbich the order
is striving to pain. It is believed that
it will reach 30,000 by April 1, 1901.
The Women of Woodcraft grow rapidly
and has etich enthusiastic workers that
the orders crow all the time. It is not
only a winter Growth but a summer
growth also, and the W. O. W. will have
to "look out" or its sister will overtake
it. Woodmen Paper.
Cedar Circle, Women of Woodcraft, is
initiating every meeting night; by April
1st it will have initiated over forty, the
majority of whom are beneficiary mem
bers. It is an order that strives to
uplift and help, and teaches ttie motto
of "Live for souiethinc." Cedar Circle
some time since challenged Mt. Hood
Camp, we are told, to a benefit member
ship contest to close April 1st, the losing
side to serve banquet to the winning
side. Both orders are working hard to
win, but to date the ladies are ahead
although Mt. Hood Camp savs they are
holding a reserve force to com? in on the
home run. The contest will be watched
with interest.
Cedar Circle will hold its anniversarv
banquet on April 1st, as near as possible
to its meeting nieht.
Among the tens of thousands who have

Withdrawn from Dltputed Land.
Pekik, MarcT 22. The troops oa both
sides of tb? disfuted land at Tien Tsin
have been withdrawn and all danger of
a fracas is ended. The opinion of the
British is that the promptness of General
Barrow in calling up the uarineB from
Taku prevented a collision.
The British report that prior to the
arrival of the marines sentries were tup
plied from the Madras Pioneers, who
for several daye were surrounded by
crowds of foreign soldiers, mostly French,
who assailed them with all kinds of
abuse, calling them "Coolies." The
Madrasses were becoming restive when
the marines arrived at night, and quietly
relieved them, and It was only when
daylight appeared that the Russians dis
covered the change.

Dallas, Ter., March 22. According
to a statement made by H. W. Summers,

V&fy. Unusual
It is very unusual for a rcRular physician of good reputation to publicly
endorse a proprietary remedy. Wc nave often heard of cases where doctors
have secretly prescribed Acker's English Remedy, but it is most gratifying to
receive the lollowinfi voluntary letter
from C. F. Smith. M D., the most
successful physician of Glean, N. ..
'Messrs. W. H. H.-okcr & Co.,
New York City: 1 wish to add my
professional testimony to the value
of your English preparation known
as Acker's English Remedy for Asth
ma, etc. In several instances, after I
have tried my utmost to give even
relief, I have prescribed yourremcdy,
and it has acted almost like a miracle,
not only relieving, but permanently
curing every one of the patients. I en
dorse' the preparation as one of the
most valuable additions to the prac
tice of medicine."
Such a frank endorsement as the
above is phenomenal. Coming from
so distinguished a member of the
medical profession, it carries with it
an assurance which the public will be
sure to avail themselves of. It is rec
ommendations like this which make
it possible to give the broad guaran
tee that is a part of every sale of Ack
er's Enclish Remedy for Couchs,
Colds, Asthma, Bronchitis and Consumption. It must cither do all that is
claimed for it. or your money will be refunded. Do you know of any other
medicine sold on those terms ? Do you know of any other medicines which
prominent doctors regularly prescribe in their own practice as being better than
prescriptions they write themselves ? These facts arc well worth considering.
They are of especial interest to those with sore throats and weak lungs.
Sold at 50c. and $1 a bottle, throughout the United States and Canada ; and ia Eng
