telope. Wallace McCaruant, one of Portland's
best known attorneys, arrived yesterday
afternoon from Peudleton, leaving this
morning for the metropolis.
A. H. Connor, who has been an em
ploye in the 0. R. & N. office at Port
land, came up from that place on No. 4
laet night, leaving on No ' for Starbnck,
where he if to be employed in the rail
road office there.
J. Donohue, one of Hood River's lead
ing citizens, is in town today on btiai
