An Excellent Combination. The pleasant method and beneficial effects of the well knowji remedy, Svrup of Figs, manufactured by the California Fig Syrup Co., illustrate the value of obtaining the liquid laxa tive principles of plants known to be medicinally laxative and presenting them in the form most refreshing to the taste and acceptable to the system. It is the one perfect strengthening- laxative-. cleansing1 the system effectually, dispelling- colds, headaches and fevers gently yet promptly and enabling- one to overcome habitual constipation per manently. Its perfect freedom from every objectionable quality and sub stance, and its acting- on the kidneys, liver and bowels, without weakening or irritating them, make it the ideal laxative. In the process of manufacturing figs ure used, as they are pleasant to the taste, but the medicinal qualities of the remedy are obtained from senna and Other aromatic plants, by a method known to the California Fig Sybup Co. only. In order to get its beneficial effects and to avoid imitations, please remember the full name of the Company printed on the- front of every package. CALIFORNIA FIG SYRUP CO. BAIT FHAl-TCISCO, CAL. DANGER IN SODA Serious Results Sometimes Follow Its Excessive Use. Common soda ia all right in its place nd indispensable in the kitchen and tor cooking and washing purposes, but it was never intended as a medicine, and people who use it as such will some day regret it. . ' We refer to the common use of soda to relieve heartburn or sour etoruach, a habit which thousands of people practice and one which ia fraught with danger; moreover the soda only gives temporary relief and in the end the stomach trouble gets worse and worse. The soda acts as a mechanical hritant to the walls of the stomach and bowels and caees are on record where it has ac cumulated in the intestines, causing death by incarnation or peritonitis. Dr. Harlandson recommends as the safest and surest cure for sour stomach (acid d3-spepsia) an excellent preparation sold by druggists under the name of Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets. These tabj lets are large 20 grain lozenges, very pleasant to taste and contain the natural acids, peptones aDd digestive elements essential to good digestion, and when taken after meals they digest the, food perfectly and promptly befdre it has time to ferment, sour and poison the blood and nervous system. Ir. Wuerth states that he invariably uses Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets in all cases of stomach derangement and finds them a certain cure not only for sour stomach, but by promptly digesting the food they create fiesh and strengthen the action of the heart and liver. They are not a cathartic, but intended only for stomach diseases and weakness and will be found reliable in all stomach troubles except cancer of the stomach.
