river country, where the doctor' ia in
terested in the mines. He claims these
mines are the "biggest thing on earth."
John Griffith Company.
"Those who really love a rood love

going to see "The Avenger," which is
Announced to appear at tbe Vogt opera
house on Monday, May 15. The play
was written by Mr. Aniect Bourgoiee
and Fetal, and the scene is laid in France
arly in the seventeeth century. The

was ever in the hand of the cavalier.
One famous play in the scene, the
Sandiil scene, has a beauty of its own,
wh:ch has rarely been equaled. The
company which will present this re
markable piece is headed by Mr. John
Griffith, an fictor of parts. It is be who
plays the part of Henri DaLagardero,
the hero, and the role is said to be an
xceptionally grateful one. Mr. Griffith's
support is headed by. Miss Kathryn
Pornell. - The dialogue of the "play is
bright and crisp, and particularly rich
inelegant language. The period ad-
mita of moat beautiful costuming, and
particular attention has been paid to
this. It ia safe to eay that the play will
be welcomed by an enthusiastic audience
here as elsewhere.
