Strup of Figs, manufactured by the
California Fig Sykup Co., illustrate
the value of obtaining' the liquid laxa
tive principles of plants known to be
medicinally laxative and presenting1
them in the form most refreshing to the
taste and acceptable to the system. It
is the one perfect strengthening laxa
tive, cleansinfr the system effectually,
dispelling colds, headaches and fevers
gently yet promptly and enabling1 one

every objectionable quality and sub
stance, and its acting on the kidneys,
liver and bowels, without weakening
or irritating them, make it the ideal
laxative.
In the process of manufacturing figs
are used, as they are pleasant to the
taste, but the medicinal qualities of the
remedy are obtained from senna and
pther aromatic plants, by a method
known to the California Fig Syrup

effects and to avoid imitations, please

Eczema!
The Only Cure.
Eczema is more than a skin disease,
and no skin remedies can cure it. The
doctors are unable to effect a cure, and
their mineral mixtures are damaging
-to the most powerful constitution. The
whole trouble is in the blood, and
Swift's Specific is the only remedy
which can reach such deep-seated blood
diseases.
Eczema broke oat on my daughter, and con
tinued to spread until
her head was entirely
covered. She was treated

time the first bottle was finished, her head be

Robbed the Grave.
A startling incident, of which Mr.
John Oliver of Philadelphia, was the
subject, is narrated by him as follows:
"I was in a most dreadful condition. My
skin was almost yellow, eyea sunken,
tongue coated, pain continually in back
and sides, no appetite gradually grow
ing weaker day by day. Three phyai
ciana had given me up. Fortunately, a
triend advieed 'Electric Bitters' ; and to 1
my great joy and surprise, the first
bottle made a decided Improvement. I
continued their use for three weeks, and
am now a well man. I know they saved
my life, and robbed the grave of another
victim." No one should fail to try them.

hardly a section of . California that has

two hours, and in raoet places it has been
raining almost constantly for forty eight

This rainfall will prove the savior of
the state this year, as, had rain not fallen
at this most opportune time there would
