TEE EXCELLENCE OF SYRUP OF FIGS
Is due not only to the originality and
simplicity of the combination, but also
to the care and skill with which it is
manufactured by scientific processes
known to the California Fig Sybup
Co. only, and we wish to impress upon
all the importance of purchasing' the
true and original remedy. As the
genuine Syrup of Figs is manufactured
fcy the California Fig Strtjp Co.
only, a knowledge of that fact will
assist one in avoiding the worthless
imitations manufactured by other pa
tics. The high standing of the Cali
fornia Fro Syhup Co. with the medi
cal profession, and the satisfaction
which the genuine Syrup of Figs has
given to millions of families, makes
the name of the Company a guaranty
of the excellence of its remedy. It is
far in advance of all other laxatives,
as it acts on the kidneys, liver and
bowels without irritating or weaken
ing them, and it does not gripe nor
nauseate. In order to get its beneficial
effects, please remember the name of
the Company

Immigrants from all sections of the
East are attracted yearly by the splendid
crops and the great promise of the. fruit
lands of the Grand Valley, the garden
spot of the state.
Here a broad river sweeps past the
prosperous fruit orchardsand the growth
of green things has chauged the desert
until Grand Junction and vicinity re
semble the beautiful Piedmont Valley of
the East. Already the valley is popu
lated with industries, enterprising farm
ers and fruit growers, hut there ia plenty
of room for more. The Grand valley ex
tends from Grand Junction, the largest
town, fifteen miles to the east, twenty
miles south, twenty-five miles west and
ten miles north, and throughout its en
tire length of forty miles from east to
est in the state. The annual fruit
crop is 1000 carloads, estimated as worth
$400,000. In addition to the fruit in
dustry, sugar beets, wheat, oats, barley,
alfalfa, potatoes and tomatoes are raised
bv many settlers. The principal town9
in this section are Grand Junction, De
Beque, Fruita, Palisades and Rifle, all
on the line of the Colorado Midland
Railroad.
Two Pointed Questions Answered.
What is the use of making a better
article than your competitor it you can
not get a better price for it?
Ans. As there is no difference in the
price the public will buy only the better,
so that while our profits may be smaller
on a single scale they will be much
greater in the aggregate.
How can you get the .public to know
your make is the best?
If both articles are brought prominent
ly before the public both are certain to
be tried and the public will very quickly
pass jndgment on them and use only the
better one.
This explains the large sale on Cham-
Enterprising; Ttrug-gists.

Leading institutions throughout the United Ptates

the principle hitherto so trreatly desired has at
last been achieved, that of firmly and constantly hold
ing the rupture with a gentle hand-like pressure.
It does not pass around the hip like other trusses,
but over the hips, the silver wire lying in the hollow ot
side, thereby allowing the free movement of the hips
and limbs, allowing the wearer to stride out freely, and
doing away with the fear and dread that something
will go wrong that usually attends the wearing of other
trusses.
Its lightness is featherweight In comparison with
other trusses. It is so llsrht the wearer scarcely knows
he has anything on, and this is a ere,t comfort, enab
ling the wearer to forget his ailments.
It can be altered bv the wearer to the shape of the body, not being made of hardened steel,
and can, with a little judicious and careful bending, be made stronger or weaker in pressure, as
