THE EXCELENCE OF SYRUP OF FIGS
is due not only to the originality and
simplicity of the combination, but also
to the care and skill with which it is
manufactured by scientific processes
known to the California Fig Sybup
Co. only, and we wish to impress upon
all the importance of purchasing the
true and original remedy. As the
genuine Syrup of Figs is manufactured
by the California Fia Syrup Co.
only, a knowledge of that fact will
assist one in avoiding the worthless
imitations manufactured by other pa
ties. The high standing of the Cali
fornia Fn Sykup Co. with the medi
cal profession, and the satisfaction
which the genuine Syrup of Figs has
given to millions of families, makes
the name of the Company a guaranty
of the excellence of its remedy. It is
far in advance of all other laxatives,
as it acts on the kidneys, liver and
bowels without irritating or weaken
ing them, and it does not gripe nor
nauseate. In order to get its beneficial
effects, please remember the name of
the Company

A Clever Trick:
It certainly looks like it, but there is
really no trick about it. Anybody can
trv it who has lame back and weak kid
neys, malaria or nervous troubles. We
mean he can cure himself right away by
taking Electric Bitters. This medicine
tones up the whole system, acts as a
stimulant to the Liver and Kidneys, is a
bluod purifier and nerve tonic. It cures
constipation, headache, fainting spells
sleeplessness ana melancholy. It is
purely vegetable, a mild laxative, and
rentores the system to its natural vigor,
Try Electric Bitters and be convinced
that they are a miracle worker. Every
bottle guaranteed. Only 50c a bottle at
Blakeley & Houghton's drug store. 3
It's Bnmu Nature.
This readiness to accept the wonderful
and miraculous in preference to com
moni.'a'-e truth. A plausible and glib-
tongued doctor can go from town to town
curini;, or trying to cure, people, and
have a great influx of shekels, while
every community in which the so-called
doctor goes is supplied with quiet
learned practitionors, who have forgotten
more than the fakir ever learned, and
they can give you the best treatment
within the reach of human knowledge.
While your home doctors carry yoa from
year to year, get up at all times of the
night and are your servants daring the
dpy, and you pay them when you are
well or able, the fakir gets the cash, and
is gone forever. If your eyes are troub-
ing you in any way, call on Prof. P. G.
Daut, the only graduated optician or
doctor of refraction in The Dalles, two
doors west of Keller's bakery. I am
here to stay, and guarantee all eye work.
Pbof. P. G. Daut.

to know of one concern in the land who
are'not afraid to be generous to the needy
and suffering. The proprietors of Dr.

ten million trial bottles of this great
medicine; and haye the satisfaction 'of
knowing it has absolutely cured thous
ands of hopeless cases. Asthma, Bron

Is Used by Many
Leading Institutions throughout the United States
and Canada, and have been -adopted by Guy's and West
minster Hospitals, Lonlon, England. In this Truss
the principle hitherto so greatly desired has at
last been achieved, that of firmly and constantly hold
ing the rupture with a gentle hand-like pressure.
It docs not pass around the hip like' other trusses,
bat over the hips, the silver wire lying in the hollow of
side, thereby allowing the free movement of the hips
and limbs, allowing the wearer to stride out freely, and
doing away with the fear and dread that something
will go wrong that usually attends the wearing of other
trusses.
Its lightness is featherweight in Comparison with
other trasses. It is so livht the wearer scarcely knows
he has anything on, and this is a Brest comfort, enab
ling the wearer to forget his ailments.
