TEE EXCEIENCE OF SYEUP OF FIGS
is due not only to the originality and
simplicity of the combination, but also
to the care and skill with which it is
manufactured by scientific processes
known to the California Fig Sitrup
Co. only, and we wish to impress upon
nil the importance of purchasing the
true and original remedy. As "the
genuine Syrup of Figs is manufactured
by the California Fis Syrup Co.
only, a knowledge of that fact will
assist one in avoiding' the worthless
imitations manufactured by other pa
ties. The high standing1 of the Cali
fornia F." Syrup Co. with the medi-.
cal profession, and the satisfaction
which the g-enuine Syrup of Fig's has
given to millions of families, makes
the name of the Company a guaranty
of the excellence of its remedy. It is
far in advance of all other laxatives,
as it acts on the kidneys, liver and
bowels without irritating or weaken
ing them, and it does not gripe nor
nauseate. In order to get its beneficial
effects, please remember the name of
the Company

Races Daring The Fair.
The outlook for the races at the fair is
very good, much interest being mani
fested in them. Already at the track
are found such horses as"Lo Li," "Jim
Bozeman," "Twister," "Mark Hanna,"
"Senator Wilson," "Nerooso," "Be
gonia," and "Volta." There are also
foui or five saddle horses training for
the saddle race, and ponies galore for
the pony race. Monday morning it is
expected that four or five carloads of
trotters and pacers will arrive from La
Grande.
Among those who have horses which
it is thought would win honors in the
roadster race and who It is hoped will
enter them, are Messrs. Schneck, Ilob
son, Pease, Fowler, Stephens, Mclnerny,
Rhodes, Hinton, Murchie, Downing,
Moody, Comini and MacAllister. If any
of the gentlemen mentioned or others,
desire to enter for the roadsters race, it

General Debility
and Loss of Flesh
Scott's Emulsion has been the
standard remedy for nearly a
quarter of a century. Physicians
readily admit that they obtain re
sults from it that they cannot get
from any other flesh-forming' food.
There are many other prepara
tions on the market that pretend
to do what
SCOTT'S-'
Erjj&zsion
docs, but they fail to perform it.
The pure Norwegian Cod-livef Oil
made into a delightful cream, skill
fully blended with the Hypophos
phites of Lime and Soda, which
are sucn valuable tonics,
makes this preparation an
ideal one and checks the
wasting1 tendency, and the
atient almost immediate
y commences to put on
flesh and gain a strength
which surprises them.
Be sure you get SCOTT'S Emulsion. See that the
man and fish are on the wrapper.

Deafness Cannot be Cared
by local applications, as they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There is only one way to cure deafness,
and that is by constitutional remedies.
Deafness is caused by an inflamed con
dition of the mucous lining of the Eus
tachian Tube. When this tube is in
flamed you have a rumbling sound or
imperfect hearing, and when it Is en
tirely closed, Deafness is the result, and
unless the inflammation can be taken
out and this tube restored to its normal
condition, hearing will be destroyed for
ever ; nine cases out of ten are caused
by catarrh, which is nothing but an in
flamed condition of the mucous sur
faces. We will give One Hundred Dollars for
any case of Deafness (caused by catarrh)
that cannot be cured by Hall's Catarrh
