known to the California Fiq Sybup
Co. only, and we wish to impress upon
all the importance of purchasing the
true and original remedy. As the
genuine Syrup of Figs is manufactured

assist one in avoiding the worthless
imitations manufactured by other pa

which the genuine Syrup of Figs has
given to millions of families, makes
the name of the Company a guaranty
of the excellence of its remedy. It is
far in advance of all other laxatives,
as it acts cn the kidneys, liver and

SICK OR WELL; A RUSH
NIGHT AND DAT.
The Packers at tbe. Battle of Santlaeo de
Cuba Were all Heroes Their Heroic
Efforts In Getting Ammnuttton and
Rations to tbe Front Saved tbe Day.
P. E. Butler, of. pack-train No. 3,
writing from Sandingo, De Cuba, on
July 23J, says: "We all had diarrhoea
in more or less violent form, and when
we landed we had no time to see a
doctor, for it was a case of rush and rush
night and day to keep the troops sup
plied with ammunition and rations, but
thanks to Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera
a id Diarrhoea Remedy, we were able to
keep at work and keep our health; in
fact, T sincerely believe that at one
critical time this n.edicine was the in
direct eaviour of our army, for if the
packers had been unable to work there
would have been no way of getting sup
plies to the front. There were no roads
that a wagon train could use. My com
rad and myEelf bad the good fortune to
lay in a supply of this medicine for oui
pack-train before we left Tampa, and I
know in four cases it absolutely saved
life."

Chaplain C. C. meCabe,
BISHOP IN THE M. E. CHURCH,
In answer to an urgent call by the church in
thiB city, will deliver his famous lecture on the
"Bright Side of Life lolly Prison"
AT THE
t
Methodist Church,
This continues to be one of the most noted lectures of the day. It is always
given in the interests of the church, and has made for it more than $150,000.
The price of this lecture in all Eastern cities is $1.00, but we have reduced the
price to 50 cents, to give all an opportunity to hear it, especially accomodating
loose ol neignooring towns and counties.
Bishop McCabe sees a bright side in every thing. This lecture is instructive,
entertaining and inspiring. It was Chaplain McCabe that tore up his shirt to make
a flag with which to celebrate the 4'.h of July in Li bby Prison. Hia singing has
inspired many a soul to deeds of heriosm
courage.
