Mrs. E. J. Collins and Miss Mable " Collins returned on the Sarah Dixon last evening from a trip to Yaquina E. M. Crum has returnedfrom a two roonths stay at Moffett Springe. He is loud in his praises of this favorite resort, and says it cannot be eurpassed any where. Will Fredden and Ferdinand Deilzel will leave this morning for Portland and Clatsop beach, where they will take a ten days outing. They have evidently tieard "that young men are at a premium t the beach and are anxious to be "in the swim." LONG BEACH ITEMS. State Concerning Dallesitea from One of the Pebble on the Iteacb. Mrs. Geisendorfer is one of the latest arrivals at Sea View. Frank Cram was a visitor at Long Beach for a few days. Capt. Allyn, of the D. P. & A. N. Co. line, is spending his vacation with his family at Sea View. We heard it reported that men were a tecarce article over at Clatsop. We are orry for the girls over there; they ehou!d have come to Long Beach. We can hardly realize that we have lived where it was warm this summer, . s we have to keep a fire all the evening and uioet of the day to be comfortable. Friday night there was a dance at the Hionx Beach hotel. Ic was well patron ized by The Dalles colony. Roger Sin ziott chaperoned twelve young ladiea and Nick about half that number of .married ladies (whose husbands are not on toe beach.) Ton have alt herd that a fish is at ihome in water; and the Dalles Fish are perfectly at home in salt water. Mrs. STieh has proven herself the best swim mer on the beach. She is not the "only yster in the stew ;" bat she is the big gest Fish in the puddle. Miss Etta Story is the guest of Mrs. J. W. French. When she returns to The Dalles she will be more than a mere shadow, as she is already improv ing; in fact it would be advisable for C9 m to n Lilacs and Pansies. On Monday evening a very enjoyable bonfire was given. The evening ws in terspersed with singing and conversa tion. Fruit, candy and nuts were passed. Amcng Da'lesites present were Edna and Hattie Gler.n, Lena Liebe, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. McFarland. Last Satarday evening a very pleas ant hop was given at tbe home of Mrs. Chase, and about forty persons were present. The older ones enjoyed them selves playing games, whiie the younger ones tripped the light fantastic until a late hour. Daring the evening light re freshments were served. Among those present were W. H. Wilson, Winne frel Wilson, Bert Farrell, Edna Glenn, Grace Glenn, of The Dalles, Miss Martha Wilson, of Springfield. The Dalles is very well represented on Long Beach. At Ocean Park the family of N. Harris and Geo. Miller, also H. Klindt and H. H. Riddell. At Tinkers Hon. Robt. Mays and Mr. Dawson were registered. At Centerville are the families of S. French, D. M. French and J. W. French, Mrs. Nellie Bolton and family, Mrs. Lytle and family, Mrs. Mc Inuis and family, Mrs. Maier and chil dren, Mrs. W. Lord, Miss Etta Lord, Miss Etta Story, Miss May Enright.
