TEE EXCELLENCE OF SYRUP OF HQS
is due not only to the originality and
-simplicity of the combination, but also
"to the care and skill with which it is
manufactured by scientific processes
inown to the California Fig Syrup
Co. only, and we wish to impress upon
all the importance of purchasing the
true and original remedy. As the
genuine Syrup of Figs is manufactured
by the California Fiq Syrup Co.
only, a knowledge of that fact will
assist one in avoiding the worthless
imitations manufactured by other ps
ties. The high standing of the Cali
fornia Fo Sykup Co. with the medi
cal profession, and the satisfaction
which the genuine Syrup of Figs has
given to millions of families, makes
the name" of the Company a guaranty
of the excellence of its remedy. ' It is
iar in advance of all other laxatives,
as it acts on the kidneys, liver and
bowels without irritating or weaken
ing them, and it docs not gripe nor
nauseate. In order to get its beneficial
effects, please remember the name of

Notice to Delinquent Taxpayers.
The delinqent taxes of Wasco county,
s shown on the rolls now in the bands
of the Bheriff are $60,000, an amount al
most equal to the indebtedness of the
county. Every citizen will doubtless
-admit that this state of affairs should
.not exist, and that all taxes should be
-collected. On account of hard times
in the past the county court Las shown
leniency to taxpayers, but that leniency
has reached the limit, and the court
cannot wait .longer on delinquents to
make settlements. For this reason a
warrant has been attached to each de
linquent roll commanding the sheriff to
collect all taxes by eeiznre and sale of
property. With a bountiful crop now
in eight, there can no longer be any rea
sonable excuse for the non-payment of
taxes. The sheriff is bound by oath to
comply with tho terms of the warrants
attached to the tax rolls for the collec
tion thereof, and has no option in the
matter. Delinquent taxpayers can eave
the cost of seizure an 1 sale of property
by settling their taxes at once.

Sheriff and Tax Collector for Waeco
County.

Thankful words written by Mrs. Ada
E. Hart, of Groton, S. D. "Was taken
with a bad cold which settled on my
lungs; cough set in and finally termin
ated in Consumption. Four doctors
gave me up, saying I could live but a
short time. I gave myself up to my
Savior, determined if I could not Etay
with my friends on earth, I would meet
my absent ones above. My husband
was advised to get Dr. King's New Dis
covery for Consumption, Coughs and
Colds. I gave it a trial, took in aH eight
bottles. It has cured me, and thank
God I am saved and now a well and
healthy woman." Trial bottles free at

About one month ago my child, which
ia fifteen months old, had an attack of
diarrhoea accompanied by vomiting. I
gave it such remedies as are usually
given in such cases, but as nothing gave
relief, we sent for a physician and it was
under his care for a week. At this time
the child had been sick for about ten
days and was having about twenty-five
operations of the bowels every twelve
hours, and we were convinced that un
less it soon obtained relief it would not
live. Chamberlain's Colic, Choiera and
Diarrhoea Remedy was recommended,
and I decided to try it. I soon noticed a
change for the better; by its continued
use a complete cure was brought about
and it is now perfectly healthy. C. L.

Persons troubled with diarhoea will
be interested in the experience of W. M
Bush, clerk of the hotel Dorrance, Prov

years I have been almost a constant suf
ferer from diarrhoea, the frequent at
tacks completely prostrating mo and
rendering me unfit for my duty at this
hotel. About two years ago a traveling
salesman kindly gave me a small bottle
of Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and
Diarhoea Remedy. Much to my sur
prise and delight ite effects were imme
diate. Whenever I felt symptoms of the
disease I would fortify myself against
the attack with a few doses of this val

very satisfactory 'and almost complete
relief from the affliction." For sale by
