has adopted resolutions to
that oflect. The, war feeling

It has been explained that

Madrid, April 7.-12:35 p.
m. After the meeting of the
cabinet and issue of the somi
oflicial noto,previously cabled,
which was regarded as a Ber

much excitement and a belli
cose talk in the city. The
cafes wore crowded with peo

situation, and generallj ap
proving the attitude of the
cabinet. The newspapers to
day aro very violent in their
utterances against the United

Great disappointment is expressed at
the United States legation at the hitch

which seems to have ocourred tonight

Tho Spanish cabinet met At 5 o'clock

the meeting ended without tho annouuc

MYSTBUIUUH EVENTS.
Dadiud, April 7.-1:30 a. m. There
appears to be much mystery connected
with lust night's events. It seems that
after the regular cabinet meeting ad

turned homo, tho papal nuncio, Mon
ignore Nava.iu company with 'Minister
of Foreign Afrairs Gullon, arrived with
a communication from Roine.
This was considered of so much im

opinion thut tho situation is very grave.
Several papers announce that Minister

He has taken up his residence at the

Itent the Klondike'
Mr. A. C. Thomas, of Marysville.Tex.,
has found a more vuluable discovery
than bus yet been made in the Klondike.
For years he suffered untold agony from
consumption, accompained by hemmor
Hinges; and was absolutely cured by
Dr. King's New Discovery for Consump
tion, Coughs and ColdB. He declares
that gold is of little value in comparison
with this marvelous cure; would have it,
even If it cost a hundred dollare a bottle.

New Yoisk, April 7. A Havana cable
says :
Whon it became known that the pres
ident's message would not go to con
gress, the excitement here quickly dis
appeared. Establishments that had
closediuuluding that of Luwton Cliilds,
reopeued.
Hundreds of Mexicans, Americans
and Cuban citizens will leave the island
in the next few days. The public is
now awakened to the fact that war is
close at hand, and only can be avoided
by statesmanship of the wisest and most
vigorous kind.
The Shakers of Mount Lebanon, a
community of simple, honest, God-fearing
men and women, have prepared the
Shaker Digestive Cordial for many years,
and it is always the same, simple, hon
est, curativo medicine that has helped
to make the Shakers the healthy, long
lived people that they are. The Shak
ers never have indigestion. This is
partly owing to their simple mode of
life, partly to the wondorful properties
of Shaker Digestive Cordial. Indiges
tion is caused by the stomach glands not
supplying enough digestive juice.
Sbuker Digestive Cordial supplies what's
wanting. Blinker Digestive Cordial in
vigorates tho stomach and all its glands
so that after awhile they don't need
help. As evidence of the honesty of
Shaker Digestive Cordial, the formula
is printed on every bottle. Sold by
druggists, price 10 cents to $1.00 per bot

Premier Sagasta, nccerding to his cus

in his cabinet, his intention being to
endeavor to keep all his present col

Weyler, with his military and politic
al following, and Senor Robledo have
been very active lately in criticising the
conduct of bagasta with reference to
Cuba and the Spanish relations with
the United States.
"A word to the wise is sufficient"' and

Those who know. The oft repeated ex

taken for knowledge. Mr. V M, Terry
says Chamberlain's Cough Remedy
gives better satisfaction than any other
in the market. He has been in the drug
business at Elkton, Ky., for twelve
years ; has sold hundreds of bottles of
