Last summer packing cost 14 cent per pound from Dyea to Lake Linderman until the rush came; then it got up to 48 cent per pound. Winter is the time to get ovsr to the lakes from Dyea and Skagway. The Skagway trail was forty miles of mud last August. Dyea is much better in summer and Skagway is the better in winter.
