New Youk, Feb. 24. Herman Hlnz,
a Texas cowboy, who was tried in the
Kings county court last week for man
slaughter in causing the deuth of his
brother-in-law, Otto Dlehl, whom he
shot in January, in Brooklyn, has been
discharged.
Hinz argued that the shooting was
done In self defense. His trial lasted
four days. The jury deliberated more
than nine hours, and at the end of that
time ftood ten to two for tho acquittal oi
the prisoner.

ernment has decided to permitCanadian
goods to be shipped from Vancouver and
Victoria in American vessels without
duty by St. Michaels to the Yukon for
the corning season. An order to that ef
fect has been bent to the custom office
on the coast. The oider applies to the
Yukon route by St. Michael, end does
not Include the points of Skaguay and
Dvea.
