Mrs. E. A. Adams and wife of Fair
field, Wash., went to Hay Creek this
morning to visit Mr. Siimmerfield, of the

Messrs. M. T. Nolan and F. W. Wil
son went to Kingsley today, and will
make the closing speeches of the cam
paign at that place tonight.
Mr. H. A. York went to Hood River
this morning. He shipped the shelving
formerly in the Dunham drugstore, and
will use it in the drugstore he is opening
at that point.
C. B. Moore, ex-speaker of the legis
lature of this state, was a paseenger for
Portland on yesterday's local, he having
just completed a vigorous campaign in
Gilliam and Morrow counties.

entered of record in the records of Dalles City,
on the 4h day of October 1S96. notice is hereby
Klven that the crosswalks and sidewalks on the
following streets or parts of streets have been de
clared dangerous by said Common Council on
said 3d day of October, and the said Common
Council will proceed to make the improvements
as hereinafter designated, on said streets or ports

of all crosswalks and of each of them, will be
charged and levied upon the corner lots corner
ing upon the street or streets iutersected by such

entire cost that its street frontage upon the in
tersecting streets bears to the street frontage of
all lots to be assessed upon said streets, and the
