that nine-tentlis of my troubles were
caused by constipation, I began the use
of Ayer's Pills, with the most satisfac

attack that did not readily yield to this
Temedy. My wife, who had been an
invalid for years, also began to use
Ayer's Pills, aud her health was quickly
zestored. With my children I had no

preceded by constipation, and I soon
had the pleasure of knowing that with

The Union cannot say that Bond
Brothers' circus was the best that ever
showed in this city, but it can say con
sistently that the performance was clean
and creditable. The price of admission
was not as high as .the usual circus
charge, but theentertaiument was in ad
vance of many of the aggregations that
have for their price of admission twice
that charged by Bond Bros. All of the
ring work and aerial performances were
up to the usual standard and the' dan
gerous and difficult feats of the LaRolle
brothers was something that is rarely, if
ever, excelled under a circus tent. Prof.
McLaughlin's group of trained horses is
a study for the ablest critic, and the fact
that a number of these animals were at

exhibits similar work to that of his emi

tation as a horseback rider, and Mr.
James Burchard'e movement as a con
tortionist deserves a special mention.
The fhow is under the supervision of
gentlemanly managers, which is always
a pleasure to visitors. .

The memories that cluster around the
farewells of old and tried friends seemed
to be expressed in the words and songs
of the evangeliste, Carpenter and Wal
lace, last evening, vho came to our city
but ten days since.
A goodly number were present at this
last service, and it was a very solemn
occasion. At times both gentlemen
were nearly overcome with the feelings
that oppressed them. The solos of Mr.
Wallace were especially impressive, and
when he sang the last farewell pat few
remained unmoved. The solemnity of
the occasion was intensified to those
who had learned in the last few days to
esteem these men and love the ones for
whom they labor.
Mr. Carpenter's text was taken from
Isaaih liii:l, "Who hath believed our
report? and to whom is the arm of tbe
earnest as he told his audience that they
had done their duty in telling them the
truth, and now it rested with them to
decide.. In giving the last invitation he
said it might be the last time he should
meet them this side of eternity, and a9
the choir sang ''Just As I Am" he urged
all who wished to take the start for a
heavenly home to rise. Quite a large
number responded to this last invitation.
When Mr. Carpenter made the closing
prayer he remembered these and all
others who had felt constrained, but had
not risen. Then he prayed for tbe
choir, pastors, Christian workers, ushers
and all who had taken part in these
services. Tbe exercises closed with the
doxology.
Many remained after the exercises to
say good bve to the evangelists.
