UnTOLO MISERY
raoH
KHEUF..ATISI7.
C. H. King, Water Valley, Miss., cored by
Ayer's Sarsapariila
"For five years, I suffered untold misery
from muscular rheumatism. I tried every
known remedy, consulted the best physi
cians, visited Hot Springs, Ark., three times,
spending $1000 there, besides doctors' bills;
liut could obtain only temporary relief. My
flesh was wasted away so that I weighed
only ninety-three pounds ; my left arm and
leg were drawn out of shape, the muscles
being twisted tip in knots. I was unable to
dress myself, except with assistance, and
could only hobble about by using a cane. I
had no appetite, and was assured, by the
doctors, that I could not live. The pains, at
times, were so awful, that I could procure
relief only ly means of hypodermic injec
tions of morphine. I had my limbs bandaged
in clay, In sulphur, in pouliices; but these
gave only temporary relief. After trying
everything, and suffering the most awful
tortures, 1 began to take Ayer's Sarsapariila.
Inside of two months, I was able to walk
without a cane. In tliree months, my limbs
began to strengthen, and in the course of a
year, I was cured. My weight has increased
to 1G5 pounds, and I am now able to do my
full day'3 work as a railroad blacksmith."

The Mystic Shrine, A. F. and A. M.
meets in Portland Saturday evening,
March 2St.h, and invitations are gener
ally extended throughout the state to
its members to be present. There will
be present the imperial potentate, Chas.
Li. Field. The recorder says:
There is no use to disguise the fact,
that to have an enjoyable trip we must
have the vulgar dollar, for they are
handy things to have around. A Shrine
meeting without candidates, is like unto
a deEert without an oasis. On this oc
casion it will be proper to honor our djs
tingurehtd noble and bid him welcome
with that moss-covered vessel we all hail
v as a treasure :
The old oaken bucket,
The Iron-bound bucket,
The moss-covered bucket,
"Which hung tn the well.

A Little Girl Drowned.
A little dumb girl, the daughter of
Frank Beason of Gilliam county, was
. drowned in a well near the house Tues
day morning. The following are the
particulars, as related by the" Fossil
Journal : The children were playing
outside, running around the house, and
her 13-year-old brother was the first to
miss the child, whose tracks he traced
to the well, where a hole in the rapidly
melting snow explained only too well
the sad fate that bad overtaken his
eister. He jumped into the well and
found the body in four feet of icy water,
and lifted it out with the aid of his
mother, whom he bad. frantically called
to his assistance. The father and D. H.
Smith, who were building fence not far
from the house, were hastily summoned
and did all in their power to resuscitate
the poor little body, but in vain. ..

Always call at W. J. Moore's, the
leading candy maker, when you want
the genuine marsh mallow taffy. His
marsh mallow taffy is inimitable. Don't
be deceived by the name, it absolutely is
not the same. Moore's chocolate sponge
taffy is something new. Always in the
lead and up to date, but never follows.
Give him a call and you will be con
vinced. When Baby was sick, we gave her Castoria.
When she was a Child, she cried for Castoria.

of all cases of consumption can, if taken In
the earlier stages of the disease, be cured.
This may seem like a bold assertion to
those familiar only with the means gener
ally in use for its treatment ; as, nasty cod
liver oil and its filthy emulsions, extract
of malt, whiskey, different preparations of
hypophosphites and such like palliatives.
Although by many believed to be incura
ble, there is the evidence of hundreds of
living witnesses to the fact that, in all its
earlier stages, consumption is a curable
disease. Not every case, but a large per
centage of cases, and we believe, fully 98
percent, are cured by Dr. Pierce's Golden
Medical Discovery, even after the disease
has progressed so far as to induce repeated
bleedings from the lungs, severe lingering
cough with copious expectoration (includ
ing tubercular matter), great loss of flesh
and extreme emaciation and weakness.
Do you doubt that hundreds of such cases
reported to as as cured by " Golden Med
ical Discovery " were genuine cases of that
dread and fatal disease ? You need not take
our word for it They have, in nearly every
instance, been so pronounced by the best
and most experienced home physicians,
who have no interest whatever in mis
representing them, ad who were often
strongly prejudiced and advised against
a trial of "Golden Medical Discovery,"
but -who have been forced to confess that
it surpasses, in curative power over this
fatal malady, all other medicines with
which they are acquainted. Nasty cod
liver oil and its filthy "emulsions' and
mixtures, had been tried in nearly all these
cases and had either utterly failed to bene
fit, or had only seemed to benefit a little for
a " short time. Extract of malt, whiskey,
and various preparations of the hypophos
phites had also been faithfully tried in vain.
The photographs of a large number of
those cured of consumption, bronchitis,
lingering coughs, asthma, chronic nasal
catarrh and kindred maladies, have been
skillfully reproduced in a book of 160
pages which will be mailed to you, on re
ceipt of address and six cents iu stamps.
You can then write those cured and learn
their experience.

The readers of this paper will be
pleased to learn that there is at least
one dreaded disease that science has
been able to cure in all its stages, and
that is Catarrh. Hall's Catarrh Cure is
the only positive 'cure known to the
medical fraternity. Catarrh being a
constitutional disease, requires a consti
tutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh
Cirre is taken internally, acting directly
upon the blood and mucous surfaces of
the system, thereby destroying the foun
dation of the disease, and giving the
patient strength by building up the con
stitution and assisting nature in doing
its work. The proprietors have so much
faith in its curative powers, that they
offer One Hundred. Dollars for any case
that it fails to cure. Send for list of
testimonials. . Address :
