GANGER CURED
; AND A
LIFE SAVED
By the Persistent Use of
Ayer's Sarsaparilla
."I was troubled for years with a
sore on my knee, which several
physicians, who treated me, called a
-cancer, .assuring me that nothing
could be done to save my life. As
a last resort, I was induced to try
Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and, after tak
ing a number of bottles, the sore
42:
began to disappear and my general
health improve, I persisted in this
treatment, until the sore was en
tirely healed. Since then, I use
Ayer's Sarsaparilla occasionally as
a tonic and blood-purifier, and, in
deed, it seems as though I could not
keep house without it." Mrs. S. A.

SHOULDER STRAPS.
Their Effect Upon tbe Form Is Very
Bad.
" X number of women have hopeless
ly deformed their shoulders by tho
wearing of shoulder straps," said a
physical culture enthusiast the other
day to a class dt ladies. "The weight, of
the skirts on the straps has worn little
furrows in the heavy muscles of the
shoulders. Just notice the shape of
women who wear narrow straps. Of
'course, it is not observable when they
are dressed in ordinary costume; but
in evening1 dress I can pick out every
one in the room who is in the habit of
wearing straps.
"The proper .thing is a fitted waist
with heavy material set in around the
ormholes and down the sides as stays
or strengthening pieces. To these are
attached the buttons or hooks that sus
tain the weight of the skirt.
"It is absolute suicide to hitch these
things upon the ordinary corset. That
throws the whole of the weight upon
the body below the waist and is the
cause of more distress than one can
well imagine. There are a great many
people who could not be induced to
put shoulder straps on growing chil
dren; indeed, the waist is in every re
spect more desirable. It need not be
high in the neck, but should cover the
curve of the shoulders so that the
weight of the garments may rest even
ly over them.
"The physical cnlturist has a wide
field, and the time is coming when the
possibility of developing the figure of
a child will be studied as carefully as
the development of the mind." N. Y.

Nona Bat Ayer's at the World' Fair
Ayer's Sarsaparilla enjoys the extra
ordinary distinction of having been the
only blood purifier allowed on exhibit at
the world's fair, Chicago. Manufact
urers of other sarsaparillas sought by
every means to obtain a showing of their
goods, but they were all turned away
nnder the application of the rule for'
bidding the entry of patent medicines
and nostrums. The decision of the
world's fair authorities intavor of Ayer's
Sarsaparilla was in effect as follows
"Ayer's Sarsaparilla is not a patent
medicine. It does not belong to the
list of nostrums. It is here on its
merits." .

The readers of this paper will be
pleased to learn that there is at least
one dreaded disease that science has
been able to cure in all its stages, and
that is Catarrh. Hall's Catarrh Cure is
the only positive cure known to the
medical fraternity. Catarrh being
constitutional disease, requires a consti
tutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh
Cure is taken internally, acting directly
upon the blood and mucous surfaces of
the system., thereby destroying the foun
elation of the disease, and giving the
patient strength by building np the con
stitution and assisting nature in doing
its work. The proprietors have so much
faith in its curative powers, that they
offer One Hundred Dollars for any case
that it fails to core. Send for list of

It is a big thing to eay but neverthe

There is nothing like it for Malaria

If there is anyone thing that need

But blood tells, and as a blood purifier

preference to anv other;" So wrote Mr.
S. H. Hvsell, of Middleport, Ohio. And
Dr. D. S. Russell, of Farmville, Va.,
