CANCER CURED AND A LIFE SAVED By the Persistent Use of Ayer's Sarsapaiifla "I was troubled for years with a sore on my knee, which several physicians, who treated me, called a cancer, assuring me that nothing could be done to save my life. As a last resort, I was induced to try Ayer's Sarsaparilla, and, after tak ing a number of Iwjttles, the sore 7 A began to disappear and my general health improve, I persisted in this treatment,' until the sore was en tirely healed. Since then, I use Ayer's Sarsaparilla occasionally as a tonic and blood-purifier, and, in deed, it seems as though I could not keep house without it." Mrs. S. A. Fields, Bloomfield, Ta. Robbery at Heppner. The boldest robbery that ever occurred in Heppner took place last-night. Two masked men held up the Oregon -Kail way & Navigation Company's agent, -and made him, at the point of their re volvers, open his safe and give them the - cash. They secured probably $50. The robbery took place about 9:30 o'clock. The agent and his wife went ' into the office at that time, and two men vwalked in, with their faces covered with black masks, and, covering the agent and his wife, ordered them to hold up their hands. The agent asked them what lor. iney repuea "liecause we want you to." They ordered him to open the safe, saying they, wanted his money, and only had a minute to wait. Mrs. Hart, th9 agent's wife, left the room, notwithstanding they ordered her to stop, and went down the track for the brakeman, who had left the depot about ten. ininutes before, and was at the coach getting ready for a night's run. . The alarm was quickly given ; but so far no trace of the robbers has been found. Oue was a tall man and the other of medium size. The depot is about 200 yards from any other occupied building, and a great many wonder that a robbery has never occurred before. Dafar1! Population to Increase Dr. A. Deitrich of Dufur left this morning for Wisconsin and Indiana on a colonization scheme.' Though Dr. Deitrich has reaped little benefit person ally, he has benefited the common-, wealth greatly by his work in this line. The readers of this paper will be pleased to learn that there is at least one dreaded dieease that science has been able to cure in all its stages, and that is Catarrh. Hall's Catarrh Cure is the only positive cure known to the medical fraternity. Catarrh being a constitutional disease, requires a consti tutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken internally, acting directly upon the blood and mucous surfaces of the system, thereby destroying the foun dation of the disease, and giving the patient strength by building up the con stitution and assisting nature in doing its work. The proprietors have so much faith in its curative powers, that they offer One Hundred Dollars for any case that it fails to cure. Send for list of testimonials. Address : F. J.
