A PREACHER'S EKPERiEJiCE.
"Three months ago, I took a vio
lent cold which resulted in an attack
of acute bronchitis. I put myself
' under medical treatment, and at the
end .of two months was no better.
I found it very difficult to preach,
and concluded to try Ayer's Cherry
Pectoral. The flrst bottle pave me
great relief ; the second, which I am
now taking, has relieved mo. almost
entirely of all unpleasant symptoms,
and I feel sure that one or two bot
tles more will effect a permanent
cure. To all ministers suffering from
throat troubles, I recommend Ayer's
Cherry Pectoral." E.M. Bbawlet,

Regarding Wheat.
i
The following taken from the Portland
Commercial Review gives a good resume
of the wheat situation in Portland and
throughout the Northwest:
The local market has been quite active
during the past week ; . there has . been
more wheat received here than for eome
time past; offerings ' have been freer,
.. and some large sales have been coneum--T-.TOated.
Though eome holders for the
..past few weeks have been reserved iu
tneir oners ana wniie satisned from a
survey of the world's markets that local
exporters pay fully .all the market will
tand, yet having. confidence that there
must in time be a reaction in their favor,
i ' 111 i . i
WW V.I B.U WUWJ
finance their holdings, and it must be
- conceded that the bulk of wheat-remain-'
"3ng in some sections of 'the North wet t is
in strong hands and will be drawn only
by a material advance in present prices.
Tin the Palouee country over one half of
the crop has been marketed, and in tbe
Walla Walla country very little has been
disposed of as yet. Though a few weeks
remain before the turn of the year, we
can look for a very active movement be
fore then. Farmers will be compelled
to avoid accumulating storage charges,
and offers will be freer. The talk that
KKHinmi i f i . nn m . a u innn a a " vnoir nan
has bt-err spread out that exporters are
lacking wheat to fill vessels now in port
is false, when one firm the past week,
having plenty of Bhips on hand, char
tered a ship that was in port disengaged,
this does not look as if ex port e s are suf
fering for wheat. Walla Walla wheat is
quoted at 85c per cental, and valley 89c;
this represents its full txport value from
this port. Exporters are in the market
at about figures quoted above, but what
business they do is entirely for future
wants, as there is absolutely no neei of
wheat for the loading of chartered fleet,
which is working -as rapidly as the
weather permits. The milling demand
is very much curtailed, owing to the un
remunerative sale of flour, and the in
quiry for the manufactured article is so
slow that no encouragement is offered to
free buying.
