Cherry
Pectoral
A PREACHER'S EXPERIENCE.
"Three months ago, I took a vio
lent cold which resulted in an attack
of acute bronchitis. I put myself
under medical treatment, and at the
end of two months was no better.
I found it very difficult to preach,
and concluded to try Ayer's Cherry
Pectoral. The first bottle pave me
great relief ; the second, which I am
now taking, has relieved me almost
entirely of all unpleasant symptoms,
and I feel sure that one or two bot
tles more will effect a permanent
cure. To all ministers suffering from
throat troubles, I recommend Ayer's
Cherry Pectoral." E. M. Beawlet,

Mr. G. Cailloattee, Druggist, Bearers

Discovery I owe my life. Was taken
with La Grippe and tried all the physi

and was given up and told I could not
live. Having Dr. King's New Discovery
in my store I sent for a bottle and began
its use and from the first dose began to
get better, and after using three bottles
was up and about again. It is worth its
weight in gold. We won't keep store or

The Teacher' Institute Postponed.
Those who were looking forward with
pleasant anticipation to the meeting of
county teachers, which was scheduled
for Dec. 30th in The Dalles, will be sorry
to learn that probably this interesting
event will have to be foregone. Com
plications have arisen which will make
postponement necessary, and it is more
than likely the association meeting will
have to be cancelled. It is to be hoped,
however, that some arrangement may
yet be made by which our teachers can
.obtain the neded benefits of the associa
tion. The following letter Iroin Supt.
Shelley gives a full explanation of the
matter:
Editob Chbontcle: Our county in
stitute must necessarily be indefinitely
postponed. Circumstances, that I could
not possibly foresee and over which I
have no control, have transpired to
bring about this result. The date of the
state association has been changed to
fall on the same "time we bad selected.
When arranging for the time of our
meeting, I had no thought, whatever,
that a state meeting would be held at all
this winter, as it is only customary to
hold one each year, and one had been
held last July. To make doubly sure,
however, before sending out the circular
letters, I wrote the state superintendent,
who in reply, Nov. 30, gave me the first
news of a state meeting this winter, and
fixing the time for Dec. 26, 27 and 28.
It was, however, found to be an unfor
tunate date, as I can see, and changed
to January 1, 2 and 3. This absolutely
prevented Pres. Campbell, one of our
instructors, from attending the firet
week of our meeting, which was to begin
Dec. 30. Even if this could bave been
avoided, it was not wise to attempt
holding both meetings at the same time,
I suppose no one is to blame, but in jus
tice to myself, I make the above state'
meet. Teoy Shelley,
School Supt.
