C H 1 UiiTOLO f.liSERY FROM RHEURIATIS C. H. King, Water Valley, Kiss., cured by Avar's Sarsapanlia ' For Ave years, I suffered untold misery from muscular rheumatism. I tried every known remedy, consulted the best physi cians, visited Hot Springs, Ark., three times, spending 1000 there, besides doctors' bills ; hut could obtain only temporary relief. My flesh was wasted away so that I weighed only ninety-three pounds; my left arm and leg were drawn out of shape, the muscles being twisted up in knots. I was nnable to dress myself, except with assistance, and could only hobble about by using a cane. I had no appetite, and was assured, by the doctors, that I could not live. The pains, at times, were so awful, that I could procure relief only by means of hypodermic injec tions of morphine. I had my limbs bandaged in clay, in sulphur, in poultices; but these gave only temporary relief. After trying everything, and suffering the most awful tortures, I began to take Ayer's SarsaparilVa. Inside of two months, I was able to walk without a cane. In three months, my limbs began to strengthen, and in the course of a year, I was cured. My weight has increased . to 1C5 pounds, and I am now able to do my full day's work as a railroad blacksmith." The Only World's Fair Sarsaparilta, A. YEWS PILLS cure Hea&mchu, Did Ton Ever. There is one medicine which everv family should be provided with. We re fer to Chamberlain's Pain Balm. When it is kept at hand the severe pain of a burn or scald may be promptly relieved and the sore healed in much less time than when medicine has to be sent for. A sprain may be promptly treated before inflammation sets in, which in sures a cure in about one-third the time otherwise required. Cuts and bruises should receive immediate attention, be fore the parts become swollen, and when Chamberlain's Pain Balm is applied it will heal them without matter being formed, and without leaving a scar. A sore throat may be cured in one night. A piece of flannel dampened with this liniment and bound on over the seat of pain, will cure lame back or pair in the side or chest in twenty-four hours. What the Sentinel Thinks of The Dalles The Goldendale Sentinel is troubled about The Dalles. That paper thinks we are going to the demnition bowwows. From the above we should infer that the writer was one of those who do not care to "investigate the matter." We hardly think The Dalles is seeing its oesc aays. ims city hasn't begun to see them. With the ooenincr of the Innkn there wili be an increase iu the business done in The Dalles and it will be many times the immense volume now done. It is true there are some things The Dalles could do to increase its commer cial importance, such as the building of some new roads and repairing of old ones, but all talk of The Dalles going into an early decline is the worst kind cf "bosh." The amount of business done bv our merchants is trreater this vear than before and the future contains nothing 0 but the fairest of promises for our city. As long as The Dalles is able to nav 44U cents per busbel to Klickitat farmers when Portland pays 48 cents, there is little danger of imminent dancer of be ing doomed. "Proud village of The Dalles, unless you soon awake, thon art. doomed" is good; it is eloouence and the sentence has a sound to it which Bob Ingersoll might covet. But, Mr. Editor of the Sentinel, we are awake and very muchly so and if you could spare a day or two from your exacting duties, The Dalies could show some things which would make your next article on The Dalles have a very different tenor.
