    NOT A SICK DAY
For Over Thirty Years!
RESULT OF USING
AYER'SPILLS
"Ayer's Cathartic Pill: for over thirty
years have lifpr mo in good health,
never having hail a sick day in all that
time. Before I was twenty I suffered
almost continually as a result of con
stipation from dyspepsia, headaches,
neuralgia, or boils and other eruptive
diseases. When I became convinced
, Si &Sv
m St'?
that nine-tenths of my troubles were
caused by constipation, I began the use
of Ayer's Pills, with the most satisfac
tory results, never having a single
attack that did not readily yield to this
remedy. My wire, who had been an
invalid for years, also began to use
Ayer's Pills, and her health was quickly
restored. "With my children I had no
ticed that nearly all their ailments were
preceded by constipation, and I soon
had tho pleasure of knowing that with
children as with parents, Ayer's Pills,
if taken in season, avert all danger of
sickness." II. Wf.ttstein, Byron, 111.

Til Massacre Again Reported
Chicago, July 28. Despite the denials
from Washington in regard to the al
leged massacre at Jackson's Hole, a local
paper has the following special from
Market Lake :
"Late this afternoon a courier from the
Teton river valley reached Market Lake
with a dispatch from some ranchmen
who were barricaded in a ranch in theJ,A"tn,
vallev this side of Jackson's Hole. The
message reads :
" 'Use influence to hurry the soldiers
forward. The Indians are murdering,
burning and pillaging. For God's sake,
lose no time.'
"The courier cannot tell what was the
extent of the massacre at Jackson's
Hole. He believes none escaped alive.
The torch has been applied beyond the

range, and the fires could not be Eeen at
night."
There is more Catarrh in tins section
of the countrv than all other diseases
put together, and until the last few
years was supposed to be incurable,
For a great many years doctors pro
nounced it a local disease, and prescrib
ed local remedies, and by constantly
failing to cure with local treatment, pro
nounced it incurable. Science has
proven catarrh to be a constitutional
disease and therefore requires constitu
tional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure,
manufactured by F. J. Cheney & Co.,
Toledo, Ohio, is the only constitutional
cure on the. market. It is taken inter
nally in doses from 10 drops to a tea
spoonful. It acts directly on the blood
mucous surfaces of the system. They
offer one hundred dollars for any case it
fails to cure. Send for circulars and tes
timonials. Address.

A Dorrut Witness Vflfo VIR Induced
to Leave the To it u.
Sax Francisco, July 27. The de
tectives in tbe Durrant case are tracing
the career of Charles F. Clark, a BoBton
wine drummer, who, tho defense states,
was Induced te leave here in order that
he would not appear as a "witness for
Durrant. It is said that Clark knows
Durrant and was acquainted with
Blanche Laniont. On the afternoon of
the murder of Miss Lamont, Clark is
supposed to have seen' the girl in a car
with a young man who closely resembled
Durrant but was not he. If such testi
mony is produced at the trial, it would
go far to offset statements of several
witnesses at the preliminary examina
tion, who swore that tbey saw Durrant
and the girl together, on the afternoon
she disappeared. Clark's deposition
will be taken in Boston in Durrant's in
terest. The police detectives deny that
they induced Clark to leave town, and
that thev never heard of him belore.

Denvek, July 27. In the district
court today, Judge Butler denied the ap
plication for an injunction to restrain
the Denver Union Water Company from
shutting water off from the premises of
people who have not paid their water
bills. The judge said tht if citizens
had any criticisms to offr, they should
be made to the council which neglected
to pass an ordinance fixing rates in ac
cordance with the contract with the
company.

A Remedy Against Grasshoppeis.
This season, where the farmers and
fruit growers have suffered from the an
noyance or. grasshoppers, every one is
looking for some remedy against the
pests. The following, which is said to
be effacacioue, is taken from the Pacific
Tree and Vine, published in San Jose :
Graashoppers m some counties have
done damage. Bran, 10 pounds: ar
senic, 1 pound, and paris green 1 pound.
mixed with a quart or two of molasses
and water, enough to moisten well, i
spoonful in a place, will do for the grass
hoppers. Army worms must be fought
furrows, perpendicular side next
the field to be protected, with straw in
bottom, and fired everv now and then
We have some complaints of a mildew
or blight on apple trees the twigs turn
white, wither and die. If the fruit is
injured so as to be worthless, Bordeaux
Mixture might be sprayed on at once,
which would check the trouble, prob
ably, and a healthy foliage grow this
summer and fall. It is likely the same
thing sprayed in early spring would en
tirely prevent it.
There comes a time to all of us, when
we feel mean and "out of sorts" and in a
condition to invite disease. It is then
we need such a remedy as Dr. J. H. Mc
Lean's Strengthening Cordial and Blood
Purifier. To persons exhausted by
sickness or overwork its invigorating
influence is surprising, promptly restor
ing health, energy and cheerful spirits.
