NOT A SICK DAY For Over Thirty Years! RESULT OF USING AYER'SPILLS "Ayer's Cathartic Pills for over thirty years have kept me in good health, never having had a sick day in all that time. Before I was twenty I suffered almost continually as a result of con stipation from dyspepsia, headaches, neuralgia, or boils and other eruptive diseases. When I became convinced I . . J$M that nine-tenths of my troubles were caused by constipation, I began the use of Ayer's Pills, with the most satisfac tory results, never having a single attack that did not readily yield to this remedy. My wife, who had been an invalid for years, also began to use Ayer's Pills, and her health was quickly restored. "With my children I had no? ticed that nearly all their ailments were preceded by constipation, and I soon had the pleasure of knowing that with children as with parents, Ayer's Pills, if taken in season, avert all danger of sickness." There is more Catarrh in this section of the country than all other diseases put together, and until the last few years was supposed to be incurable. For a ereat many years doctors pro nounced it a local disease, and prescrib ed local remedies, and by constantly failing to cure with local treatment, pro nounced it incurable. Science has proven catarrh to be a constitutional disease and therefore requires constitu tional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure, manufactured by F. J. Cheney & Co., Toledo, Ohio, is the "only constitutional cure on the market. It is taken inter nally iu doses from 10 drops to a tea spoonful. It acts directly on the blood mucous surfaces of the system. They offer one hundred dollars for any case 'it fails to cure. Send for circulars and tes timonials. Address. F. J. The first bulletin regarding the out look for prunes and plums has just been received by Mr. Pink ham and given to Thk Chronicle. ' Our fruit men watch the market reports with great interest. This report gives a full description of the situation in the East and the pros pect for Oregon frait. Following is the entire bulletin : Since our last bulletin there has been nothing moving with the exception of a few late cherries. Peach Plums The first arrivals of this fruit shipped from California eold in different Eastern markets from $1.60 to $2.00 per crate. However, prices gradually declined until today they are selling for $1.00. As the first car of peach plums from Oregon, was shipped from 1 he Dalles, July 20th, it has not arrived at destination yet. Heretofore shipments of Oregon peach plums have been very unsuccesstul and with us this year, we are making every ettort to know tbe exact condition of this fruit and thus be able to advise whether to ship hereafter. We shipped a car from Tbe Dalles July 23d, one July 25, and one today ; also from Portland July 3d ; from Rose- burg July 24. Two cars shipped by a California house from Eugene July 25th ; also one from Salem shipped by a local house, Six cars, mostly peach plums, were shipped from Walla Walla country the past week. We ehipped a car from Riddles July 26th. We will issue re ports on the sale of all those cars. Pkachks The local Portland demand has been light, selling from 40 to 60 eta A great many Snake river peaches have been shipped here. It will not pay to make eastern ehipments of peaches, Georgia is shipping in such large quan tities; also Michigan. On July 23d, 53,000 baskets were shipped from one point in Michigan to the Chicago and Milwaukee markets. California will dry most of her crop this yeor. Snake river is shipping a number of carloads, but they will not prove profitable Pears With a short crop in Califor nia and no eastern grown to compare with Pacific Coast Bartletts, good ship ping pears will prove profitable. Calif ornia Bartletts are selling today for $2.25 to $3.50, Plums & Prunes The market will be good for our Hungarian and Italian prunes, while the Egg plum and Silver prune do not sell as well on account of light color, yet they will prove more profitable green than dried Regarding handling fruit, good prices depend more upon equal distribution and systematic .handling than anything else. With our great expense to make this possible and our past successes, it should surely give us reason to expect co-operation in what we are trying to do make Oregon fruit glowing as profitable to the grower as it seemingly is to the railroads, refrigerator car com panies and the commission men There comes a time to all of us, when we feel mean and "out of sorts" and in a condition to invite disease. It is then we need such a remedy as Dr. J. H. Mc Lean's Strengthening Cordial and Blood Purifier. To persons exhausted by sickness or overwork its invigorating influeuco is surprising, promptly restor ing health, energy and cheerful spirits, Price $1.00 bottle.
